Here in Arkansas (and I assume in other states as well) you can pre-arrange your funeral. I would go to the funeral director who would be in charge of my body after death and go ahead and arrange my funeral…the casket, vault, clothing, the church, choice of songs sung…everything can be pre-arranged. If you are in full communion with the Church and you are a regular attendee then speak with a friend closest to you and ask him or her to notify the priest and the funeral director when your time comes. I am a convert to the faith as well. I of course have my husband and children who also are in full communion with the Church, but if something happened and I were the last remaining one I would not have any family who would honor my wishes either. I would make sure that I had it all taken care of BEFORE I died. Others on here have also suggested talking to an attorney and that is also a good idea. He or she can give you legal advise about your options.
