when you start this subject, Creation versus evolution, you can get into serious arguments.
But the point is this: As a Catholic Christian, you are free to believe in an old earth or a new one, as long as God created it.
Your faith should never be harmed by delving into science. We do not have to gain knowledge but lose our faith. Sadly, many do. Many “smart” people do not believe in God. But Einstein was one of the greatest minds of science yet also a man of God. Some try to blow it off as the time period he lived in. But the world is such a hugely complex thing, it is impossible not to see God’s divine hand in creation.
Take the opportunity not to see chance or random events, but God’s beautiful hand.
May you grow in faith and love of the Lord without fear of abandoning your mind.
