	BUFFALO — In 1970, more than 1,200 Catholic priests served the parishes and missions of the Diocese of Buffalo.
Today, fewer than half that number are in service, and that includes missionaries serving overseas as well as sick and retired priests.

Father Leon Biernat’s job is to find and help men discern whether they are being called by God to diocesan priesthood.

He’s a busy, busy man.

I am encouraged by the huge number of lay people involved in the Church compared to 30 years though. And that was Jesus’ true message, it is up to ALL of us…
