A Catholic cathedral in California was defaced overnight, with swastikas, an upside-down cross, and other messages spray-painted on the church’s doors and entryways.

“This morning our beloved Cathedral was defaced with pentagrams, upside down crosses, white power, swastikas, BLM, etc. It reminds us to pray for my brethren in Iraq that are facing persecution. Pray for the criminals who did this,” St. Peter’s Chaldean Catholic Cathedral in El Cajon, California said in a statement posted on Facebook Sept. 26.

The cathedral is the seat of the Eparchy of St. Peter the Apostle of San Diego, an Eastern Catholic diocese of roughly 70,000 Catholics.

Actually in El Cajon near San Diego, so near CA headquarters I would believe. They have videos but these vandals are wearing hoodies, nothing wrong in that.

On twitter, there’s quite a bit of discussion between Chaldean Catholics. So, this seems to be a Chaldean Catholic Church. Sad.

Very terrible and I will pray for those affected like it was my local Church.

Chaldeans, they live in Syria and probably Iraq too. Hate to hear this. This just sounds like a mindless act of vandalism.

I am confused though, who vandalized the church? Was it #BLM the slogan? #BLM the movement? #BLM the organization? They should probably declare themselves, especially as they team up with the white supremacists.

Probably focus on White Power, swastikas etc. instead of on BLM. Some white supremacists have had problems with the Bureau of Land Management.

Or they were just trolls.
