I am wonder what are some of the Christmas movies that have a Catholic tone to them? I am a big movie buff and would love to be able to share some with my family. Maybe I may be posting in wrong thread… much love God bless 😃

I have never seen this, but it was a recommendation of a good Catholic woman. It’s called A Christmas in Whales. Hope more poeple chime in because I’d like to know more, too!🙂

Perhaps you are referring to A Child’s Chistmas in Whales?

It is a lovely movie and very family-friendly. I personally don’t remember it having a specifically catholic tone to it but it certainly was a pleasure to watch.👍

I just saw a really cute movie that did emphasize Christian values throughout the story. It’s called “Santa’s Buddies” and it’s about talking dogs 😃 who help to keep Christmas from disappearing. Good for kids and adults.
A more serious note would be “Jesus of Nazareth” by Franco Zefferilli which is a 6 hour 2 dvd set. The first part would have the birth of Jesus in it. This film was approved by Blessed John Paul II as being accurate.

Director John Ford’s “3 Godfathers” - IMDB description: “Three outlaws on the run discover a dying woman and her baby. They swear to bring the infant to safety across the desert, even at the risk of their own lives.” It’s basically ‘The Nativity Story’ told as a western.

Yes, that’s right~ you make me really want to see it! Thanks! And I think It’s a Wonderful Life is worth watching once a year, for sure. 😉

an original TV production of Amahl and the Night Visitors was a regular feature of my childhood, wonder if that tape survives
