Catholic Christmas Wrapping Paper/Bags

The store itself is a wonderland. It used to be a furniture store when I was a kid, so there’s tons of space. They sell everything from school uniforms to vestements to books (although for books the Pauline Store in Crestwood has a much bigger selection) to toys and jewelry. I got my grandchildren little Nativity sets made of felt to put on your fingers. I can’t wait to give them to the kids. They have those Willow Tree figures – so pretty. It’s my first stop for Christmas shopping. Deb

I miss going out and shopping. Especially around Christmas time.

When I was younger, we used to go to Center City (Philly) every year, the first week of December. It was awesome! 🙂

The past few years I’ve had to do most of my shopping online.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to get out and about next Christmas. God willing.

I grew up outside of Philly. My mom still lives in the area. I don’t know where she gets her wrapping paper but she ALWAYS finds the nativity and angel gift wraps. If you are in the Chester County area I could ask for you. Feel free to PM me if you want.

Denise, I understand what you mean. I’m having to use the handicapped hangtag during this nasty St. Louis Weather! I’m terrified of falling on the parking lots. Mostly I use it when I go to the Muny Opera in the park in the summer. The regular lots are just farther than I can walk. Because of knee problems and arthritis, I have limited standing time. I do most of my shopping in a single store or two, or online. No malls for me.

And Jennifer…thanks for the Catholic Stamp site. I’d forgotten it was out there. I have tons (literally!) of stamps, but I’m always on the look out for words – the inside part of the card is the hard part! Hobby Lobby is good for those, and sometimes they’re half price. Hooray for half price.

This is funny. As I was wrapping the gifts for the CCD teacher a few minutes ago.
I was using snowman paper and thought, “This isn’t very Catholic”

I’ve tried to purchase Christmas wrapping paper with a Nativity theme. Most Christmases I can’t find it at all.

I’m excited to announce the opening of First Christmas, a mother-daughter operated company now producing the one Christmas item we can never find – wrapping paper designed to remember the birth of Jesus Christ.

In all seriousness, is “catholic” wrapping paper really important?

What happens when you have to fold the paper and you end up with Jesus’ top half and the donkey’s behind? Don’t laugh, its happened to me.

My point being that while wrapping gifts is part of the season, I don’t think Jesus’ ever intended the celebration of gift-giving on His birthday to include 30 slightly-off-color images of Him and his family crinkled around a toaster.

I dunno. It just may be me.

I don’t think he intended us to give gifts of toasters at all, but can’t the paper at least remind the giver and receiver of Jesus and not Santa or some other “symbol” of Christmas?

By the way, the paper in the link above is quite lovely…
