Hi there

We are based in the UK and have a German visitor with us. He’s Christian Evangelical but says his parents told him that Catholics won’t allow Evangelicals into a Catholic Church.

We took him with us to Holy Mass at a Benedictine Monastery and as it was the first time he’d been to a Catholic Church I asked how come, that’s when he said that apparently they aren’t allowed.

I’m very sure this isn’t true but how can I prove this to him, is there a website or somethnig or some kind of apologetics I can point to, so he can see this is not true and that he’s very welcome? He did seem to like the monastery which is good 👍

Thank you in advance 😃

The answer is stated in his story. His parents told him. Thus he never tried for himself.

Before I was Catholic, I visited Germany many times and was entertained by Catholic friends who took my family to Mass with pleasure. We did not receive Communion, but we were definitely welcome. This was in VERY Catholic Bavaria.

Last time I was in Germany was before I became catholic. We went to a mass, and nobody stopped us to see our official Roman Catholic membership ID card.

Here in the US there are people who think they can’t enter a Catholic Church too… I never saw a stamp on their foreheads that said “Protestant: Do not admit”
