Last year Mr Justice MacDuff decided in favour of a woman, now 47, who claimed she was raped and assaulted as a child by a priest of the Portsmouth Diocese.
The Court of Appeal has upheld this decision, which raises “an issue of wide general importance in respect of claims against the Catholic Church”.
A diocese spokesman said the case was about “fundamental legal principles”.

Problem is this does not go far enough.

When are bishops who hid this for years going to be held accountable!!

Barbara Simpson has a weekend show on a conservative Bay Area talk station.

She is a conservative Catholic.

Yet, to her credit, several weeks ago she demanded bishops be held to task and go to prison if appropriate.

Ms. Simpson is a fighter and she and a caller got very specific about a current Cardinal and what he hid. I think this story will be pursued by some here. It should be.

The money is fine but as Barbara said it will never give the victims their lives back.

Too little too late IMO.
