You are of course, totally correct about people being held accountable. It is time for some mass excommunications. And I think a certain ethnic Italian should abdicate a certain throne.

@2towers, this is a cheap shot.So you don’t believe in demons, or that they have any influence is that right?
Perhaps it was the few key prayers that were dispensed with in the 1960’s, such as the St. Michael prayer at Mass, that opened the door to the demonic. If the sexual molestation is demonic, then the church could have prevented it with a few key prayers of exorcism.
It was promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against the Church but it was not promised that the gates of hell would not attack the Church. The Church is not gone yet. Evil has not won, so the gates of hell have not prevailed even though evil attacks.Either the gates of Hell prevailed against the church by not performing a mere exorcism, or she is dealing with human failure and human evil.
You can’t possibly think it would be that easy.. If the sexual molestation is demonic, then the church could have prevented it with a few key prayers of exorcism.
This isn’t historically true, is it? The Apostles couldn’t drive out Legion but Jesus could with prayer and fasting???The Apostles invoked Christ name, and Legion fell off a cliff.
This quote made me think of that case in the news this week of Elizabeth Smart’s captors (the woman is being let out of prison early due to some time served…) sorry to get off topic… but it made me think that yes one who sees another and (encourages) just walks on is just as guilty…Why shouldn’t the one who sees another being raped but walks on be judged as morally depraved as the one doing the rape?
I am sorry you feel that way, I think, having read your text it is a legitimate question. I certainly did not mean it as a cheap shot.this is a cheap shot.
It is pretty clear to me, even though we are both Catholic, our idea of spiritual warfare is vastly different. I have read the writings of many different Saints and I never found in clear cut prayer from the “church” that could vanquish Satan, just like that, and I have read a lot. I mean it. In fact the disconnect of what I have found, and your statement I have quoted are so large, I would not know where to begin in a single post, or several posts for that matter.I believe that the church can vanquish Satan from earth with mere prayer.
