I will be living in Bengaluru, India for four months beginning this July. I was wondering if anybody else on CAF is familiar with the area and knows of any Catholic Churches nearby? I’m able to find some online, but if anyone has actually visited these I’m particularly interested in mass schedules, confession schedules, and the availability of the Extraordinary Form of the Latin Rite. I’m also interested in any eastern Catholic rites that might be celebrated nearby.

Thanks!

There might be a church of the Syro-Malabar rite. Do you mean Bangalore?

For the Syro-Malabar in Bangalore, there is St. Thomas Church - Jalahalli. For the Latins, there are many more options (too many to list here; search Google for “Catholic Church Bangalore”). Best of luck! You might want to contact the people at St. Thomas via the contact form on their website, as there might be other options closer to you that they can tell you about. Not all churches have websites.

Yes, Bangalore/Bengaluru.

Thanks dzheremi for listing St. Thomas Church. I have found lists of them online (at the Archdiocesan website), but I was wondering if any CAF members were actually familiar with the area. As you mentioned, a lot of churches don’t have websites, so there’s not much information on the Extraordinary Form or even confession schedules. I’m sure I’ll find some of this when I arrive, but I was thinking it might be good to be able to plan beforehand.
