This may come as a surprise to those of you not living in Las Vegas but there are more Catholic churches there than casinos. Not surprisingly, some worshippers at Sunday services will give casino chips rather than cash when the basket is passed. Since they get chips from so many different casinos, the churches have devised a method to collect the offerings. The churches send all their collected chips to a nearby Franciscan Monestary for sorting and then the chips are taken to the casinos of origin and cashed in.

This is done by a chip monk.

Next time I go to Mass I will check out the offering basket to see whats in it besides money!!

well, why outsource? the decon could walk to the casino’s as the cathedral (guardian angel) is ON THE STRIP.

Jesus didn’t come to save the righteous. He came to save the sinner’s, eh?

P.S. And besides, what would the “Brotherhood of the Chips” do if they were no longer necessary?

I wish I was a Chip Monk! I’d go and double the checks for God! (A ‘chip’ is actually a ‘check’ for you novice gamblers out there.) I love it it when I play and the dealer has to yell “checks played” to the pit boss. It means I am about to make some money. Yes it’s true, you can win in Vegas most of the time if you stick to good plans with the right games.👍
