I posted this question about Lubbock 2 1/2 years ago. I can’t seem to find the thread (not that it was long) but I’m looking for more suggestions. That time, we attended St. Elizabeth’s University parish (near Texas Tech), for both the daily Mass (in the smaller church) and the Sunday Mass in the big church. I loved the Mass in the smaller church (hey,I actually saw college students attending who wore head scarves!) and the Mass in the big church wasn’t bad. But now the friend we visited back then is married and living in Shallowater. The parish church there is St. Philip Benzini and there is no website that I could find. Anyone ever attend Mass there (ore even heard of it?) The reason I’m posting this to the forum is that our friends are not Catholic and we don’t know anyone else in Lubbock, nor anyone in Abilene.
I realize that finding a traditional parish with no abuses at all is problematic. I’m hoping to find one that keeps them to a minimum. A Latin Mass would work just fine (and probably have the fewest abuses, so long as they are in union with Rome). So if anyone can help me out, let me know. Our trip isn’t until June, so if this thread disappears and you’re planning to be in the area before then, you can PM also.
Thanks everyone!
