I guess that it is good that Catholic universities are not supporting planned parenthood or abortion, but what do these institutions do if one of their students becomes pregnant as a result of incest, rape or just not being prepared?
Doesn’t the church teach that it is better to be safe than sorry? Doesn’t the church have a double standard on conscience?

I have read the final report of the U.S. Catholic bishops on The Promise of Peace: God’s challenge and our response, and feel that the bishops went backward between the 2nd and final draft.

If Christians trust God and Jesus then how does the church support all of the unplanned children that occur when a woman is raped by someone? Does the Church support them? Isn’t the church running into problems with priest who have sexually abused their flock? How many dioceses are on the verge of bankruptcy? How many orders or societies have had to pay out.

If Catholic universities keep abortion and planned parenthood, then why do they still include Military programs on campus.

I may not have answered any questions. I may have raised some more important questions that may be harder to answer.

Catholic Colleges Drop Abortion, Planned Parenthood Links

Washington, DC – After a report from the Cardinal Newman Society confirmed numerous Catholic colleges and universities engaging in promotion of the Planned Parenthood abortion business and pro-abortion groups, 29 of the original 150 cases of abortion promotion have been corrected.

This is an interesting report, but I would strongly suggest that anyone using it get the whole picture.

DePaul University, where I attended graduate school, gets one mention because the university president rejected a proposed commencement speaker because she was a board member of Planned Parenthood. I do not see that as a bad thing for a Catholic university. I wish Notre Dame had done the same for a certain pro-abortion commencement speaker in 2009.

Because DePaul calls itself the largest US Catholic university, it has other links counted in the report. One was dropped, some are merely factual, and some are about proposed studies of Planned Parenthood. The number of mentions in the report is not in itself evidence of dissenting from Catholic teaching–some are just the opposite.
