Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture

I would add to my previous post that I’m an amateur at studying the bible. I haven’t been able to find a good group study locally, and this Baker Academic series really fills a need that I feel to get closer to the scriptures.

Baker has a series of (I presume) non-Catholic scripture studies. I’m looking for a comparable series of Old Testament commentaries, particularly the Psalms. I just can’t understand the Psalms from footnotes in a Bible. I want to appreciate them more. I don’t understand everything that is going on in them.

The Navarre Bible commentary series has a book on the Psalms as well as the rest of the Old and New Testaments. They are available from Scepter Press and Amazon.
