Catholic "Conversion" @ FSSP Parish?

I know FSSP is in communion. But once I move closer to the city I want to start attending the local FSSP parish. I heard that you just talk with a priest there, then they’ll baptize you when you’re ready. Is this true? Is this valid? Do I have to do rcia?

You’d have to ask at the parish about what the procedure will be. Just call the parish office, I’m sure they’ll be happy to tell you.

RCIA is the normal way to go, but a Priest can visit with you 1-on-1 and, if you are ready, can Baptize you, etc. (I am assuming you are not Baptized.) So, yep, give the parish office a call, or speak directly to the Priest, and they will let you know the best way to proceed.
(As an aside, RCIA can be a wonderful help, even for Catholics who have been through it, or were raised in the faith from birth. There is always someone to learn. )

RCIA is the process, no matter if you go through it individually or with a group, whether it’s classes or meeting with a priest, whether it takes 3 weeks or 2 years.

Longtime FSSP parishioner here. Most FSSP priests will meet and privately instruct converts until they’re ready, then baptize, and in many cases, confirm them.
