Why did you come home?

I’m a revert. After a decade of trying to find truth as a young adult in my 20’s, I kept turning from the very real truth that I always knew rejecting it just because I didn’t find it out myself (God bless my parents for having raised me Catholic). As St. Peter said in St. John’s Gospel “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life”
I’ll trust Christ and His Holy Mysteries (all 7, mind you) over anyone else’s. His Church has the fullness of Truth, not the Archbishop of Canterbury, nor Wesley, nor Calvin, nor Luther, nor Joseph Smith.
The truth of His Church is there. It was the collapse of orthodoxy in Protestantism as a whole that made me search for the truth. Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, and others are dangerous doctrines that cannot save. God shook me and He shook me hard to come Home, and I did!
Alaha minokhoun!

[SIGN]Welcome Home!!![/SIGN]My Faith Journey started again as an adult. In my job I toured a prison in 1994. When we walked through the death house a feeling of unmistakable evil came over me. I reached out to a co-worker who made the sign of the cross and we held hands all the way through there. When we walked outside I felt very ill. This experiance made me start to question all of my beliefs and I started looking for answers. Long story short, in 1998 while going thru a divorce, I was invited to attend a Catholic Church. I started getting real answers and in 2005 converted. I have real answers to questions about sanctity of life, family, and Jesus.
In my childhood religion (LDS) the only thing that ever rang true for me was faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus. The other stuff only left me asking questions and I left that church as a young adult and was lost for many years.
I am so thankful to my friend, now husband, that reached out to me and invited me to go to church with him.
Thank you! The Parish I attend now is getting a new lighted “Welcome Home” sign for the front corner. I am home!!! and intend, with God’s Grace to stay put.[SIGN]Welcome Home!!![/SIGN]
