Hi,
After a previous post about dating divorced etc… I discovered a Catholic dating service where points like pre-marital sex an contraception are identified up front including eligible to marry! This sure cuts through a lot of red tape and hassle but still feels odd.

Anyone use any of these with any luck? They seem expensive…$29 a month or 6 months for $75 +/-.

Frankly I’m just starting to get more lonely than I should be. I am in an environment with younger people, I’m 53, and those my age divorced etc just real risky for a conservative Catholic. I’m basically content in life but feel my desires and sexuality will not grow/mature unless in a committed relationship.

Any advice appreciated.

Well, DH and I met on Ave Maria Singles, so I’d say we’re a success story. 😃
 
My husband and I met through Ave Maria Catholic Singles.

I don’t think online dating is for everyone, but is worked for us.
 
I met my husband on match.com. That’s clearly a secular dating site but we found each other and converted together, later on.

Just chiming in to say that online dating has plenty of success stories.
 
What about praying to St.Raphael the patron saint of catholic singles
 
Catholic dating sites may give you a bigger chance of meeting people that shares the same beliefs such as yours. This may not be true all the time but it’s worth a try.

A number of friends tried faithfulmatch.net/ and is now happily married. You might want to check their website too.

I did match.com, catholicsingles.com, plenty of fish, avemaria.com, and catholicmatch.com. Not all at the same time. Match.com I actually had the most dates but all were anticatholic or lapsed to the point they didn’t believe anything anymore. Catholicsingles.com didn’t have hardly anyone in my area and was a waste or time. Plenty of Fish…I actually dated one guy for awhile there but again it was the lack of any direction that ended things. Avemaria was a total waste of money few guys in my area no one ever made contact unless they lived on the other side of the world and were a safe distance to make any real relationship impossible. Catholicmatch.com I dated a few guys there. One one really seriously who then dumped me when he realized things were getting serious. The trend there is commitment phobics who like to pretend they are trying to find someone only to disappear when things might actually lead to a date or a serious relationship. This is all just my experience. I’ve found if GOD wants you single that’s just the way it will be. So I gave up my search. I know several people who have met there partners on Plenty of Fish, Catholicmatch and Avemaria . If you do try any sites just don’t take it too seriously and don’t expect to meet the love of your life. It may happen but the chances are very very slim.
 
I met my husband on an online dating site too. Many of my friends of all backgrounds met their partners via online dating. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I think that using AMS or catholic match would be the best starting point.
