I was wondering if anyone had any good videos of Dawkins and a catholic apologist debating that Dawkins loses? I think Dawkins is smug and likely wrong in many ways and yet he’s heralded as the religion killer? Can someone provide me a good starting point to refute some of Dawkins claims or the new atheist mentality?

Found this amazing video!

Ed feser, Bishop Barron, and William Lane Craig! Incredible talk.

Scott Hahn has a book that refutes the most popular of Dawkin’s claims and I’m sure more apologists have books and cds in the topic as well.

Much appreciated will check that out! It’s frustrating Dawkins won’t debate someone like Craig or Feser.

You understand the concept of talking past each other?
That’s what would happen.
The way the biologist Dawkins uses words is bound to be different from the way those other two philosophers do it.

When you discuss metaphysics, you end up discussing the underlying basis for everything that exists… a biologist is not equipped to deal with that… a physicist, maybe…
That’s why you have Sean Carroll wipe the floor with Craig:

I recommend the book: “The Last Superstition” by Edward Feser.

Dawkins is an eloquent speaker and writer, but he is not a philosopher. In his book “The God Delusion” he writes in a clever and entertaining style, but his thought is not philosophically rigorous because he is not a philosopher.

Dawkins is a world class biologist.

But his understanding of philosophy and theology is literally that of an elementary school child - not surprising considering that’s about the age when he stopped believing in God.

His entire book “God delusion” is him setting up strawman after strawman and knocking them down. He’s not even in the same category as men like St. Augustine, St. Gregory Dialogus, St. Basil the Great, and any of the other Holy Doctors.

Seriously, do a side by side comparison of the theology of Aquinas vs. the theology of Dawkins.

Dawkins is an amateur theologian and philosopher at best. He should stick to what God has blessed him to be knowledgeable about - natural science and specifically biology.

There’s not a single serious scholarly theologian or philosopher who takes Dawkins seriously, he’s just dismissed out of hand as a misotheistic crusader fundamentalist.

There have been some good refutations of God Delusion however. The best one is “The Dawkins Delusion? Fundamentalism and the denial of the Divine,” written by another Oxford scholar who is also an Anglican Christian Priest, Alister McGrath.

Check out a debate between Dr John Lennox and Dawkins. Dr. Lennox is not a Catholic, but handles Dawkins nicely and easily.
