Arminianism is a school of soteriological thought within Protestantism based on the theological ideas of the Duch Reformed Theologian Jacobus Ariminius. Since Arminianism wasn’t invented until the 16th century, so I’m pretty sure St. Augustine didn’t address Arminianism. It’s really not part of Catholic Theology at all.If you want to see the Catholic position on Arminianism and Pelegianism, read St. Augustine’s writings against Pelagianism, there you will find the Catholic position on grace and free will. Another place to look is St. Thomas Aquinas’ writings on grace and freewill, he also writes extensively about predestination and its relation to grace, freewill, and divine election. St. Augustines and St. Thomas Aquinas’ positions on these issues are virtually identical, and by the way, much more predestinarian than I thought, however when you read and really understand their positions, they are power aids to Catholic faith and morals.

No, I mean Arminianism. Is it possible that what you are thinking of, is Arianism? That is a famous early heresy.
