I know that eschatology (end times beliefs) is a big deal among so many Protestant denominations and I pretty much know what they make of it, but I want to know the same about Catholics. What is the Catholic view on eschatology?

What do Catholics believe about the end times?
What do Catholics believe about the Rapture, the Tribulation, the 1000 year reign of Christ, the Antichrist, False Prophet, the Beasts, the Whore of Babylon, the Mark of the Beast, the Final Judgement, the Ressurection, the New Heaven and New Earth (or consumation)? I’m a Catholic but I never was truly taught what the Church teaches on the End Times.

End times - there is a tract on this site somewhere

Most of the Protestant fantasy of the end times isn’t even close to Catholic beliefs.

The Book of Revelation covers worship in heaven, which is the Mass on earth. See Scott Hahn’s “Lamb’s Supper” book.

HE will return; but we do not know when.

What do Catholics believe about the Rapture,

There is no “rapture” as a separate event. Such was not taught until the 1800s, and never by the Catholic Church.

Although there is believed to be a time of trial preceding HIS return, we are not taught its nature or duration.

the 1000 year reign of Christ,

There is no literal 1000 years. IMS, this is taken to be the period between the writing of Rv. and HIS return.

the Antichrist, False Prophet, the Beasts, the Whore of Babylon, the Mark of the Beast,

Very little has been taught concerning these beings or events.

the Final Judgement, the Ressurection, the New Heaven and New Earth (or consumation)?

**When our LORD returns, HE will judge “the living and the dead”. Everybody will be fitted with the pneumatikon soma (spiritual body) and will go into Eternity.

Those who “make it through” Judgement will live in the New Heaven and Earth.**

Will those who survive the judgement who will live in the New Heaven and the New Earth live forever without dying? I thought that all men must die and that the world would be destroyed.

S. Paul does seem to teach just that in 1Co 15; that not all would “sleep” in death (death is not sleep, but a dead body looks much like a sleeping body).

I thought that all men must die and that the world would be destroyed.

There seems to be a partial exception for those alive at the very end.

Even if you don’t become “dead”, your human body will still be exchanged into the pneumatikon soma; so your human life does end, even if you continue seeing, breathing, moving etc.

As a pneumatikon soma, you will not be affected by the destruction of the earth; as you can live in Heaven until it is re-formed.

So the world won’t be destroyed? And if so, who will live in the New Heaven and who will live in the New Earth?
