Catholic family sponsorship in Africa - Does it exist?

I am interested in sponsoring a family or/and children in Africa and I have been searching the internet only to find excellent sites allowing you to do this. the only problem is they are run by evangelical Protestants who blatently state their intentions to spread their belief system!!

I am unable to find any Catholic organizations that allow you to do this. I am hoping that someone out there will know of one. Please let me know. i made a promise to the Lord I intend to keep.

Food for the Poor isn’t a child sponsorship program but it’s a worthy organization.

Also, many orders of religious-- brothers, priests, and nuns-- have missions in Africa and/or Central/South America. The Domincan nuns in Houston, TX, for example, run a mission in Guatamala and you can adopt a child through them and they also have a program to help AIDS orphans in Zambia.

Check with religious orders in your area-- most have a mission program of some type.

DD sponsors a child in Nigeria

over 89% of donations go directly to sponsored children and elderly through CFCA programs, only 10% administration and overhead (this is as much as 50% of large organizations with huge advertising budgets)

Actually, you can sponsor an child in an orphanage through Food For the Poor, though Food For the Poor is inter-denominational.
