You know what, I’m through with this forum. Everyone is taking this topic as a joke, when It’s just another “If you follow Vatican II your not a good Catholic” thread.

This guy is a troll, but he is simply writing what many others have already said.I’m through with this.
Catholic girly men will think that the Church is unjust for not ordaining women.
Women shouldn’t, and can’t be priests.
Catholic girly men think that having girl altar boys is right because it would be unfair to have only boys serve the altar.
Vatican II issue, Jesus was assisted by Mary Magdalen was he not? Women can’t be priests. There is nothing wrong with them helping the priest celebrate the mass.
Catholic girly men like to hold hands during the Pater Noster (Our Father) and may even reach across the aisle to do so.
From what I can tell, a Vatican II issue. Yes, I do feel that (maybe because we are a minority here in south Texas) that we should have a strong sense of community. We all believe in on faith, and should be there for each other for mutual support. Catholic means universal, not single.
Catholic girly men think that the hand shaking at the sign of peace is one of the high points of the Mass because it helps us ‘feel’ like community.
Vatican II issue: As stated above, its important, but not nearly as important as the rest of the mass.
Catholic girly men think that it is important or good that Catholic Churches have a greeter(s) prior to the Mass so the people ‘feel’ welcome while never giving a thought that perhaps praying the Rosary as a group prior to Mass would actually be efficacious.
Vatican II issue, but my Church doesn’t have a greeter
Catholic girly men like to address their priest as Fr. Bob as opposed to Fr. Smith
Vatican II issue: Um, newsflash, they are people just like us, except given the authority to stand as a representative of Christ. They are still human. If they prefer to be called by their first name (the priests at my Church do), I see nothing wrong with it.
Catholic girly men make sure to always use words like ‘laypeople’ and ‘humankind’,
Now your just getting annoying.
Catholic girly men like to sing Glory and Praise ditties but don’t care much for traditional (Latin) hymns.
Vatican II issue: Traditional hymns? As in Latin hymns? Nope, don’t care to much for them. I like how they sound, but I don’t understand a word of what they say. Sure I know what we are saying in English, but its like when talking to a guy in a different language. Would you rather know what each word is saying, or be guessing.
Catholic girly men like to actively participate in the Mass by being lectors or by distributing Holy Communion because it is a way of giving back to the Church when in actuality both these ‘ministries’ really don’t accomplish anything other than blurring the distinction between the laity and the priesthood.
**Vatican II issue. As someone who has been a Eucharist minister, I have to strongly disagree with you. It is one of the most humbling experiences I have ever had. I grew much closer in my faith because of it. Don’t give me any BS about it doesn’t do anything. Also, I would love to see my Church try to go to the Eucharist rail, and wait for the one priest to minister to all of us. **
Catholic girly men don’t like the Mass celebrated in Latin because it’s a ‘dead’ language and they don’t understand Latin. Never mind that traditional missals have the Latin and vernacular language on facing pages so laymen can easily follow along but further untold numbers of young Catholics (under 10 years of age) are able to learn the Latin and recite the responses.
**Vatican II issue, um it is a dead language, and I don’t understand Latin, and because its a dead language, I feel no need to. I know the Anues Dei, and Kyrie by heart. I would much rather listen to something in English that I can understand. **
Catholic girly men don’t like to receive Holy Commuion on the tongue because it’s like they’re sticking their tongue out at Jesus
Vatican II issue. Um yea, I don’t like receiving on the tongue for a couple of reasons. 1. As a Eucharistic minister, I have seen people receive incorrectly, and drop the Host. And also your right, I do feel kind of disrespectful when sticking out my tongue. Society teaches us that it is not appropriate in the same way cursing is inappropriate.
Catholic girly men don’t think proper dress for Mass is really very important because at least those inappropriately dressed people are coming to Church.
I dress properly, but I fail to see your point about the ones who dress poorly, and still come to Mass. Are you saying you would support them comitting a mortal sin because they may not have nice clothes? Wow, aren’t you Christian.
Catholic girly men are uncomfortable when the topics of abortion, contraception, sin, Hell etc.
I can agree with you on this one.
So out of your 13 criteria for being a girly Catholic, 9 of them deal directly with Vatican II. All nine of the ones dealing with Vatican II directly, I agree with.
Maybe someone should post a rant on the Traditional Latin Mass. Oh wait, that would be offensive

I know most of the people on here aren’t like this guy, but I’m tired of being told I’m not a good Catholic for following Vatican II. I came to learn about how to better defend my faith when confronted by Protestants. Instead, I have to defend my faith from other Catholics, simply because I follow Vatican II.
To anyone who isn’t like the OP
Peace out
