I was not too sure which forum this posting belongs to. But probably this may be the logical forum for events involving “women priests”.

I am not sure how many of these women priests consider themselves members of the ROMAN Catholic Church, and how many members of some Independent catholic church not affiliated with Rome. But it is a trend worth noting. Consider the Episcopal Churches:hmmm:

I Just read that under the link you posted, and it says that this group has 120 members worldwide…

The newspaper article is typical of the mis-information that these unfortunate women thrive on. By their public pronouncements and behavior they have caused scandal and have excommunicated themselves. No matter what they claim, they are not Roman Catholic, and they are neither RC Priests nor RC Bishops.
These women have fallen into a trap of satan and have sacrificed their immortal souls for the modern idol of feminism.
I truely feel sorry for them and will pray for their reformation.
May G*d have mercy on them!

Womanpriest is an oxymoron. They can call themselves that, and they can refer to their ceremonies as “ordination”, but that doesn’t make it so, and I think people are smart enough to see through it. If they’re trying to evoke change in the Church, for example having women say Mass, they’re going about it in a combative way by fostering practices that go against the Catholic Church. That’s what I’d see as antiCatholic actions, and it seems silly that they’d expect people to be receptive 🤷

Don’t chalk it off quite yet, here in NY we are suffering with a wacko Bishop in Rochester who has been hosting homosexual Masses and been pushing for the ordination of a lesbian nun. The Parishioners erected websites in desperation to stop this insanity:

I think this is very dangerous business. There’s one of these fake Catholic churches in my neighborhood. If they want to break with the Church over this issue, then they’re no different then the thousands of other denominations. However, they seem to be doing this in a way that is deliberatly trying to confuse faithful Catholics. This fake church markets itself as a valid Catholic church! Just the thought of it makes me so mad! I know we aren’t supposed to pretend that we know others’ souls, but I’m afraid these false priests have no love for God at all. They seem like they are only doing this to push their pro-homosexual agenda.

Bitter egomaniacs worthy of being ignored, and not Catholic in the least. They account for 0.00000177% of the population of the planet.

There are more one-eyed dogs running loose on Guam than these few irrelevant kooks. At least tourists take pictures of the dogs.

So if you want to be a feminist, you have to give up your immortal soul?
When feminism becomes your agenda over your faithfulness to God, it becomes an idol. In that case, yes, your soul could be forfeit. That’s isn’t to say that all people who concern themselves with the advancement of women are in danger of hell. But one can’t put that, or any other political agenda, before the truth. .

Yes, you’ve made my point for me, actually. Feminism is no different from any other ism, if people start worshipping it.

Are these women worshipping feminism?

Maybe. Maybe not.

I don’t understand the point of this… Doesn’t the bishop assign priests to a parrish? And I’m going to assume you can’t just start your own ‘cause you wanna.’ It’s not likely that these women priests are conducting mass anywhere… (at least, not ‘leagally’ anyway) Why be a priest if you can’t administer any sacraments?

This is the reason GOD has provided four “marks” to identify HIS church, ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, APOSTOLIC - none of which fit with or are part of the womens priest movement.

I don’t understand the point of this…
The point is that this is yet another “grass-roots” outcropping of an idea whose time may have come.

Either this will die down and never happen again, or it will continue to peek out now and again, or it will grow.

Only time will tell.

The Church will never ordain women. That time will never come.

These people are disobedient to the Church and in schism with it. They are dishonest in presenting themselves as Catholic when their group is not in communion with Rome. Their intention appears to be one of purposefully misleading people. Their actions are gravely sinful in many ways.

I agree with you, as does everyone else here.

The real questions are:
a) how long will it last?
b) how many people will it attract?
c) will it happen again?
d) will it grow or just wither on the vine?

a) probably a couple of decades
b) the group now has a few hundred members; it will probably grow before it dwindles out
c) maybe, there have been break-away groups popping up since the New Testament
d) probably grow short term and then wither. Right now, it’s a novelty. Ten years from now, it will be boring to the press. Even now, if it wasn’t for some sensationalist “journalism” most Catholics wouldn’t even know this was happening.
