Hello,

This is my first post and I am not even sure that I am posting in the rifght place. I am still finding my way along the forums.

My question how can I get a list of the best catholic schools in USA that are well known for academics , but also for solid catholic teaching?

Any personal recommendation for a school is also welcomed.

Thanks.

Gina

I think you need to specify where you are located.

Most dioceses would have a list on their web pages.

God Bless

Actually,

I am looking for a catholic high school that is known for its excellece academics and faithfullness to the teaching of the church. Sadly, just because it is listed in the dioceses it does not mean it meets the above criteria.

I live in Houston, Texas.

Not sure why you need this info, but I can strongly recommend my son’s high school, Father Gabriel Richard in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is an independent school in the Diocese of Lansing.

The school has high academic standards, but more importantly it provides solidly orthodox Catholic education in line with the Magisterium. Daily Mass is offered, plus weekly Adoration and Benediction, Rosaries, Corpus Christi procession, etc.

I have son who is a freshman and we’re considering moving form other reasons as well, and are open to move anywhere in the US. He is a gifted student and requires a very challenging curriculum. So the academics are very importnat as well.

Thanks for the info.

The link is for the Catholic High School Honor Roll - the school my daughter attends, Pius X High School in Lincoln Nebraska was on this list last year. Schools are measued based on Academic Excellence, Catholic Identity and Civic Education.
