A Grade 12 student of North Bay, Ontario, Sinicrope has recently gone to battle with a teacher and principal at her Catholic High School over the truth of Christ’s Resurrection. “He told us people have taken the Bible too literally,” Sinicrope told LifeSiteNews in a recent interview. “He began saying that it was like a metaphor that you follow…He said that Jesus never resurrected.”
“If Catholic students are required to go to so much trouble with their Catholic teachers to defend a teaching as simple as the resurrection, what do they have to do in their Catholic schools to defend teachings on abortion, homosexuality, or same-sex ‘marriage’?” asked Suresh Dominic of Campaign Life Catholic commenting on the case of Francesca Sinicrope.
All I can say is wow!!

Hats off to the two young ladies for having the courage to speak out!

The First Reading from Wednesday`s (Novus Ordo) Mass is appropriate:
“Paul addressed these words to the elders of the Church of Ephesus: ‘Be on your guard for yourselves and for all of the flock…I know quite well that when I have gone, fierce wolves will invade you, and will have no mercy on the flock. Even from your own ranks, there will be men coming forward with a travesty of the truth on their lips to induce the disciples to follow them. So be on your guard…’.” Acts 20:28-31.

Galatians 1:6-9 is a perfect fit as well.

What kind of Catholic school is this? It must be a VERY liberal order! It would be similar to a teacher in a Jewish yeshiva telling the class that G-d didn’t really give Moses the Ten Commandments; Moses probably just created them on his own. Such a teacher would be fired immediately.
I don’t think its a private school or one that is run by a religious order. The story is from Canada and if I am not mistaken they have Catholic schools fully funded from the taxpayers. Please correct me if I am wrong, my Canadian friends?

This is a school in the Ontario separate school system. They are considered ‘catholic schools’ and supported by the bishops but its increasingly obvious that they aren’t really catholic. The bishops have little real say in what goes on at them.

Absolutely true but the schools are are expected to be in full accord with Church teaching.Eighty per cent of Catholics are CINOs or Practical Pagans and teachers are no different.,Some teachers are not Catholic-others converted SOLELY to get a job-that is the latest scandal in Ontario.

A very telling feature is that the school put “crosses” in each classroom just prior to Easter when there should be a crucifix permanently affixed in each class. The Bishop has an obligation to investigate as does the Catholic School Board.

The worst thing that Catholics in Ontario did was push for full funding which is guaranteed by the archaic British North America Act which guaranteed primarily Catholic Quebec equal education under a Catholic System. The result is tepid Catholicism with Caesar attempting to impose homosexual indoctrination sex-ed which the Bishops flat out refused tu do.There is at the very minimum forty per cent if not more of the electorate are at least culturally Catholic and politicians are quite leery of this and if Catholics get riled-THEY ARE GONE.

We should get rid of public and separate(Catholic)systems and go strictly to a voucher system to ensure orthodoxy but too many Ontarians are afraid of Muslim schools being funded. Both Jews and Muslims send their kids to religious schools and have to pay a huge chunk of property tax to the Public education system PLUS pay tuition at the religious schools.Same thing for non -Catholic Christian schools-it ain’t fair.

Over sixty per cent of the students at my son’s Catholic High School are non-Catholic.There are Muslims,no-Catholic Christians,Jews and the children of secular materialists attending because it is publicly supported, highly disciplined, uniformed, and is miles superior to the local Public High School, results wise in Provincial Testing…

Not entirely true-they can withdraw the Catholic designation(although to my knowledge that has NEVER happened unlike some universities) but I agree it is not like the old days.I was taught by Ursuline nuns in grade school and Jesuits in High school in Manitoba and you talk about orthodoxy and discipline and superior education!

Oh and most Catholic Highschools in Ontario have gotten rid of the tarty little kilt that the girls would roll up and now they have to dress in trousers like the boys.😃
