Hi! 🙂 I have a family friend that is trying to find a Catholic mission trip for her teenage son. (Her son is interested in going on a mission trip.) Unfortunately she has only been able to find Protestant/ Evangelical Mission trips. I’m trying to find a Catholic one for her.

So far I’ve only found catholicmissiontrips.net/home/ Does anyone have experience with this group?

Also are there any other Catholic mission trips for individual teens?

Catholic Heart Youth Work Camps

is the Catholic counterpart to mission trips for jr hi & high school, they usually work with parish or school groups, but there is a way for individual kids to plug in

down here in the Valley several parishes participate and go to projects elsewhere, but we are also a destination for some of the projects. My grandkids and their relatives have also participated for several years. I can’t praise it highly enough

this link is the FAQs and you can go to the homepage from there

If a particular parish does not have a teen or adult mission trip, check with the diocese to see if there is one being organized. In the Dallas area our diocese and many individual parishes organize mission trips. One does not have to be a member of the particular parish to go in some cases. Our teens must do community service hours and raise money all year to participate in our big summer mission trip, so there may be some requirements that a teen must fulfill far in advance to have the privilege of going on certain mission trips. There is a lot of work still left to do in New Orleans. I would also check with that diocese because an individual teen/adult/family may be able to join a work trip through them.

A good thread of giving some insight on a catholic high school. I’ve got a son who had been with those boys military schools to take care of him to his addiction and take the right path. It could be another option for parents like me who wants their troubled teens engage with this teen mission trips.

For teens like this, military camp is also a great option. Unlike military schools, these are part-time camps – often held over the summer – that are designed to give teens a swift introduction into military training. Think of it as a teen version of boot camp for adult soldiers. While not requiring the commitment as military school for kids, military camp helps teens who are beginning to show a lack of focus and discipline to turn their lives around before it’s too late.

i don’t think they are looking for teen military camp here because they are looking for a catholic mission trips for teens. You must have misunderstood fhaye’s post about boys military schools. She just want to send her kid, who’s in a military school, to youth camps or mission trips just for a get away or to have a good break from rigid schedules and activities. 👍

Christian boarding schools are also a good option that offer faith based programs to the teenagers. They help teens change their focus from self to serving others by having a community service, special projects, outings, mission trips and etc.
