Greetings all from a sunny Ireland,

I have been in and around these parts for a while now, but have not posted as yet.

I have been looking for a while now to get a site that has lyrics and music to catholic hymns. The only really comprehensive site I found was one called 'Cyber Hymnal, but the majority of hymns on there were from the Methodist faith.

If anyone knows any such site, I would be very greateful if you would be able to let me know.

And greetings from the sunny south. Welcome. My great grandfather was from Dublin. I still have the old handmade steamer trunk he brought all his worldly belongings over in.

This site is quite good but the problem is that it goes down frequently. It wasn’t working tonight, but in a week it’ll probably be back up. It has a lot of hymns and has midi mass settings including the Requiem mass. Another down side to this site is that there are TONS of graphics so if you have dialup or a slow server you might want to brew a cup of coffee or read a chapter of your favorite book.

Turn down your speakers before you go to the site. Those first few chords jump out at you.

Much like its brother, this site goes out of service on a weekly basis. Still a really good resource when it is working. Has music from various traditions. Many of the Eastern Churches are represented.

Cyberhymnal is definitely geared more towards non catholics, but they do have a not-half-bad selection of catholic hymns. I find the composer search to be ideal (granted I have to know who the composer of the hymns actually is). You’ll have better luck elsewhere if you’re looking for Marian hymns.

My thoughts entirely, where does she live ? 😦 we aren’t called the Emerald isle for nothing, you just don’t get to be green without a lot of rain.
We have days were it’s nice and sunny, then weeks of rain, if the sun comes out I’ll grab my camera, almost forgotton what it looks like.
I expect Irelandsgirl you live in the south-east, it’s usually better down there, but wer’e moving into summer now, so it should pick up, but I won’t hold my breath.

Well it was Sunny in Cork yesterday for about 20 mins, whilst I was writing the post, sadly it didn’t carry over to today!

Anyway good to hear from someone in Ireland, my hunch was right you do live in the south, and Cork is pretty far south.
Anyway welcome to the forum, happy posting. :tiphat:

Fermanagh, have you ever been ? anyway better stay on topic or the moderators will close the thread, pm me if you like.
Yes I’ve heard that Real capital thing before, not sure what it’s about, and Cork is holding it’s cultral events this year.
Anyway back on topic, why are there no Catholc books-shops down there to fill your needs ?
