Lucky for us my MIL owns a Catholic gift shop!

When my son was looking for a crucifix to wear, he wanted something “manly” looking (he’s 13  ). What he finally settled on was a papal crucifix in antiqued silver. Beautiful!

This is exactly what my BIL has, for the same reason, but of course DH can’t have the same thing as his little brother. They’re both like that. My sister and me? We swap clothes all the time, so we really don’t care if we “match” with something. 🙂 We actually think it’s cool if we independently pick out something that the other has or wants.

It arrived!!! And it is beautiful.

What I can’t really show in the photos is how intricately this cross is carved. Both sides are carved in very deep relieve carving and the cross is fairly large and heavy. The cross is called the St Michael cross. The main image carved on the front is St. Michael, St Nicholas on the bottom, to the right is St. Nikon and to the left I believe it to be St Sergius.

Now I have to buy a heavier chain to hold this cross, the chain I have it on is a good length, but the chain is too skinny for this large cross and it looks out of scale.

Oh well I guess I have more shopping to do 🤷
