I attended life in the spirit class’s a few different times so I could meet spiritually oriented believers.
Given your 5 following questions, how do you answer them?
Have you attended these classes??
Yes
Do you know people who have attended classes??
Yes
Did they get baptized in the h.s.??
yes, but not necessarily all.
Was there a difference in their catholic understanding??
Understanding is an interesting word. Many received a much enhanced appreciation for their faith, and were spurred on to seek to increase it.
What do you think of the life in the spirit class’s??
Not everyone will respond positively to them, as they bring an emotional aspect to faith; and some people do not seem to get very far beyond head knowledge.
It is a bit like asking “What does it mean to fall in love with someone?”
Some can appreciate another through intellect, but have little or no emotional attachment to them.
And some people seek an emotional high - with another person (falling in love), and when the emotion becomes of little intensity, they move on, seeking someone else to “fall in love with”. Likewise, some people seek an emotional high from religion; and when that fades, they seek that high elsewhere, or through other means.
I can’t say that we all have experienced someone who is intensely in love with God and things of God; but certainly some of us have. And to some of us that seems to be off-putting; to others and inspiration; and yet to others, an admiration coupled with “I can’t do that”.
If one is seeking to deepen one’s faith, the classes may be the means of doing so; but that may not necessarily apply to all who seek to deepen their faith.
