I would call them meditations rather than stories. Some are very well written.
Thank you for sharing.

Viki, I just read an excerpt of your book. Very well put. I want to buy it. I had a thread going on about buying a Kindle vs. IPad. I will buy the Kindle and then your book will be the first one I will get! I love books that puts you on the edge of your seat right from the first page! I love thrillers. I been reading Dan Brown’s books. I haven’t gotten “Inferno” yet but I will. I been thinking of writing some children’s books. I already have the themes or storyline written down. One is about tolerance and the other is about remembering your home roots. But it will be some time after I get settled down enough to start writing. What software do you use to write your chapters?? Or do you use it?

Here are the opening lines of my story, Empress Theresa 😃 …
Code:
                                 Chapter 1
Code:
I’m Theresa, the only child of Edward and Elizabeth Sullivan, and I hope it’s not bragging to say I was cute as heck at age ten. Everybody in the family said so. I was the princess in the Sullivan clan of Framingham, Massachusetts because besides being cute I was a whiz in school and had a good disposition. All the relatives expected great things from me.
Code:
Nobody could have dreamed of what I would do a few years later, and nobody would have believed it if they’d been told,................
Stop right there!
Nobody could have dreamed of what she’d do? Nobody would bellieve it if they were told?
It must be something really extraordinary. 🙂
I love thrillers.
The human race is threatened with death by starvation and only Theresa might be able to prevent it, if she can.
Who can bear a responsibility like that without going insane!
Theresa is only 18 years old.

Great opener ??
Wait until chapter four when President Martin tries to kill Theresa.
Wait until you see her fly back to the United States and everybody on the plane is put to sleep except Theresa. ( ***Wait 'til you see her try to land the damn thing!!! ***:bigyikes: :bigyikes: )
Wait until you see Theresa stare down four million people in North Korea.

Hi Becca,
Your ideas for children’s books sound interesting.
I used Open Office but it’s incredibly difficult to format it to fit Amazon’s Kindle, so I paid an author from their list of savvy tech wizards to fix it for me. Worth it in my opinion. But next time I will write in Word.
I read your blog, nice. I will PM you.

I used Open Office one time, and didn’t like it. I like Word better. I just came across another site that helps writers. Check out www.InspiringVoices.com. They have all kinds of tools to help writers get their book published, And they have their own team of illustrators to do the covers as well. I think I will try it one day when I am ready.

Thank you for reading my blog. I haven’t written in it in a while. I need to. lol.
