One person says it is superstition, another says that it is worthy and good to pray for the intercession of saints? Which is it?Spanish folks also treasure and implore the Infant of Prague for finances.

It is not superstition to pray to the Saints. One person says it is superstition, another says that it is worthy and good to pray for the intercession of saints? Which is it?
"While it is reasonable to ask St. Joseph for his intercession in helping buy or sell a home (finding housing for the holy family being one of his duties as head of the holy family), the idea of burying a statue of him upside down has no plausible connection to any patronly interest he might have in housing. One person says it is superstition, another says that it is worthy and good to pray for the intercession of saints? No necessarily. I’m pretty sure the church does not agree or disagree with burying St. Joseph AS LONG AS you relize it isn’t the act of burying that could bring good results but the act of intercession and prayer. This is superstition and is a sin of grave matter.
We do lots of things in the Catholic church that has no plausible connection to the intention we seek. Wearing a saints necklace for protection, etc."While it is reasonable to ask St. Joseph for his intercession in helping buy or sell a home (finding housing for the holy family being one of his duties as head of the holy family), the idea of burying a statue of him upside down has no plausible connection to any patronly interest he might have in housing.
IT IS SUPERSTITION.
Romani are one group of Gypsies. There are also Boyash, Sinti, and many others. We usually just say Gypsy. I was raised Ludad, a group of Boyash Gypsies. The Romani are the largest group. It’s not a racial slur unless you mean it that way.Superstitious practices with the external appearance of Catholicism, in my opinion, come to fruition as a consequence of religious indifferentism, poor catechesis, and general superstitions in a particular culture. Superstition when it comes to images of saints and novenas can manifest when trust is placed not in the prayers, but in the specific number of prayers or a particular orientation and location of an image.
By the way, the proper name for gypsies is Romani, which means “people” in their language. The word “gypsy” originated as an epithet that came about due to the misconception that the romani came from Egypt. Just a heads up on that![]()
Both. One person says it is superstition, another says that it is worthy and good to pray for the intercession of saints? Which is it?
