I’m quite confused and a little upset at a conversation I had this evening. I’m Catholic and married a non-catholic in a Registrars office. I was un-aware that I couldn’t now have communion, this was never explained to me as I don’t think it has ever came up in conversation until now. I didn’t get married in church because I had already had a son and as he was born out of wedlock I felt ashamed. My partner being non-catholic I thought well as long as I’m married. Am I now committing sin after sin by taking communion? What should I do? Do I tell me parish priest? my second son is preparing for his sacraments of confirmation and communion just now so I obviously want to be with him and show him and his brothers a good example.
