Greetings in Christ!

Thank you for the question and desire to know more about the project. We appreciate your letting others know about the site.

In answer to your question regarding scripture, each chapter in the project has many scriptural references. As well we utilize the Catechism of the Catholic Church, along with quotations from a variety of saints such as St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Ambrose. All of these components are combined into a seamless commentary that explains what is taking place in that moment of the mass. This commentary is supported and enhanced by the visuals of the moment in the mass along with beautiful imagery to complement each chapter. We also work to help the viewer/listener to develop a sense of what God is calling them to consider in this moment of the Mass.

Thank you again for your question and we look forward to the release of the project with much Hope!

I’m so glad and I look forward to this. I subscribed to your Email list on the website. I assume we will be able to find out how we can purchase this DVD?! I know I will be buying several copies. Will there be discounts for buying several copies? I guess I can wait for the Emails I get from your website… but not really. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/Alegre-Fe/Emoticons/Laughing.gif

Greetings in Christ,

Thank you for the comments.

All we can say at this point is that when the project is released it will be very clear on how to obtain a copy of the project. Stay Tuned…!

In regards to pricing, the final details are being considered, but your question is a valid one. We want as many people as possible to receive this project so that Christ may become a reality in their lives. We also need to be able to produce new projects so that people can continue to be renewed in their faith and hope. We will balance these two points and have faith that Christ will provide for all.

Thanks again for your messages and we look forward to the release!

Greetings in Christ to All!

We want to thank all who are participating in this posting and for your interest in the project. We thought you would enjoy a few factoids leading up to the release:
  1. Project has been in development for 8 months.
  2. For you geeks out there, we have over 2 terabytes of video footage that was used to make the video. Shot in 24 frames, film quality.
  3. The Audio Commentary background Score is original.
  4. The Video background Score is Original.
  5. We utilized professional male and female voice talent.
  6. We represented 4 beginning ethnic groups in the priests chosen: African American, Caucasian, Asian, and Latino.
  7. The locations were chosen to represent what the average everyday Catholic may experience in their own area.
  8. The soundtrack contains original compositions of liturgical music as well as some public domain sacred hymns.
  9. The Booklet is 96 pages in full color with color photographs from the video.
  10. The Audio Commentary CD is over 76 minutes in length.
  11. The DVD is approximately 31 Minutes in Length.
The project will sold as a collection and not as separate pieces. The primary reason for this is to ensure that the complete experience of the project is given the opportunity to work. If we sold the items separately, it is very possible that many would buy the DVD, but skip the booklet or soundtrack. This would be a great loss to the viewer since these items are very rich in content. Ultimately we want to inspire the soul to seek God and the plan he has for them. It is our belief that use of the complete project provides the best opportunity for this to occur.

In regards to purchase options we will provide four vehicles of purchase. Direct to the public, Bookstore/Retailers, Official Church Entities, and Wholesalers. Each of these areas will have a pricing structure that will make the project as cost effective as possible. We encourage you to contact your Parishes, Schools, Favorite Religious Catalog Companies, Religious Bookstores, and Lay Groups to let them know about the project and the options for purchase that will be available to them. We want all to receive the discount that is going to be appropriated to the specific group, as we know that money is always an issue. Retail Pricing is still being decided, but will be very competitive to projects with a comparable number of elements and quality of items.

Thank you again for your interest in the project.

tkcnet,

Nice work - I look forward to the series.

Are you associated with Regnum Christi?

Greetings in Christ JohnnyJoe!

Thank you for your question and the opportunity to reply.

Thy Kingdom Come, Inc. is not associated with any Lay Organization of the Church. As stated in our Mission Section of our website, the name of the organization came from our Lord’s answer when asked “teach us to pray…” See www.tkc.net for more information.

To give you a perspective on “The Catholic Mass…Revealed!” project, there were over 40 individual contributors with a wide range of spiritualities. We value the variety in charism’s inspired by the Holy Spirit, and represented in the various Religious Congregations and Lay groups of the Church. With a project like this one, ultimately a true symphony of spiritualities was created. All of these came together to create a beautiful presentation of the most sacred and public form of worship we experience as Catholics. As well it is not unlike what was experienced at that “Last Supper”, where a variety of backgrounds, spiritualities, and perspectives all came before our Lord Jesus Christ and became the foundation stones of the Church.

I most certainly planned on purchasing all of the above anyway! 👍 So that’s great! Thanks for that!

I can hardly wait. I wonder what the pricing will be?

If sales are successful, are there any plans to continue the series by presenting the various Eastern Catholic Divine Liturgies or the TLM (perhaps with a bonus feature illustrating some of the lesser known rites, like the Mozarabic, Ambrosian, and so on)?

Greetings in Christ Rolltide!

Thank you for the question related to the series.

We are currently reviewing ideas and options for our next production. We are open to (name removed by moderator)ut, so if any of you have suggestions, we are open.

There have been discussions about creating some additional works around the mass, with representation and explanation of the different rites being one idea. We will keep everyone informed as we develop the ideas into some concrete plans.

Thanks again for asking and we look forward to your review of the project.

I like the suggestions of the Eastern rite mass and maybe you could focus on Easter Mass and the before preperations and the following and Christmas as it is wonderful how the catholic church continues to worship and speak of eaach day as part of the bible for weeks after,. We were still sing christmas music for a week or so and did not take down everything for till the day before the second sunday after. This preparation time is so good for my soul and spirit. With the recent upswelling of interest, perhaps something on the Traditional Latin Mass would make an interesting and productive project.

Another idea might be a review of the the Liturgy of the Hours. The Divine Offce is the prayer of the Church.

Well, here’s my two cents. If you were to do the Eastern Catholic Divine Liturgies, you’re going to have to represent the 22 branches of Eastern Catholicism. This actually could be done by presenting the seven representative liturgies and discussing the various branches that utilize them. These seven liturgies would be:

The Liturgy of St. Basil
The Chaldean Mass
The Liturgy of St. Gregory the Theologian (The Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts)
The Liturgy of St. James
The Liturgy of St. John Crysostom
The Liturgy of St. Mark
The Holy Qorbono

Clips could be shown from the various branches that use this liturgy to piece together a service, just as you’re using four different priests in your “Catholic Mass Revealed” film. Perhaps there could be an option where the description of the liturgy is on the commentary track, rather than over the main film. Then one could enjoy the beauty of the liturgy without the explanation, if one so chose. As some of these rites do not use English, the subtitles could also be used to present the English translation, and perhaps Biblical references to the various parts of the Liturgy, as appropriate.

On a menu screen, you could show a chart laying out the various branches of the Catholic Church. Clicking on a branch would bring up a brief feature on it’s history, what it’s structure is like, unique features and traditions specific to that branch, and a link to the appropriate liturgies used by that Eastern Catholic Church.

Next, you could do the same thing with the Tridentine Latin Mass. It would be presented in a format similar to The Catholic Mass Revealed. I would also love to see the English Missal text provided in subtitles along the bottom of the screen, so that the home viewer could follow along. I would definitely include a feature on the sub-rites such as the Benedictine, Carmelite, Carthusian, Cistercian, Dominican, Franciscan, Norbertine (Premonstratensian), and Servite rites. Most are very similar to the TLM, and a short documentary showing clips of their services and explaining how they specifically differ from the TLM would probably suffice. This leaves only the Ambrosian, Bragan, and Mozarabic rites, and these could either be filmed in their entirety, or presented in clips with a short documentary as well. Personally, I’d enjoy seeing them at length, since they are so rare and restricted, that most people would never witness one. Subtitles would be needed, as they would be presented in Latin and local vernaculars.

These then could be packaged as part of a multi-part series, along with The Catholic Mass Revealed, that illuminates ALL of the various facets of Catholic celebration. For the first time, a collection of ALL of the Catholic liturgical celebrations, along with explanatory commentary and documentaries, would be available as a set for use in churches, schools, and libraries everywhere.

By the way, I love the suggestion one of the posters included about a Liturgy of the Hours project.

YES!! I would love to see something about the Tridentine Mass. :gopray2:

I also have subscribed to the tkc.net e-mail and hope for [and expect as the webmaster’s posts imply] a “Christifidelis” rendering. What a blessing this would be. Real production values in a faithful presentation and in a format favored by the widest general audience [DVD].

To me efforts like this one represent an opportunity to fulfill the real intentions of Vatican II in “opening the windows” to allow the beauty of Catholic spirituality to shine into the world.

Greetings in Christ to you All!

We have received the final rendering of the project and it is beautiful. We think the visuals, commentary, music and booklet will live up to your expectations.

We have endeavored to create a beautiful, truthful, inspiring work that is a worthy reflection of the gift of the Mass. Doctors of the Church have labored their entire life to write something of value related the most precious gift of the Eucharist. In some small way, it is our hope that we can act as a Beacon of Hope, so that the Holy Spirit will enter the lives of souls and set them afire with a Love of Christ and his church.

We ask you to Pray to Mary, The Mother Of God, as we take the final steps. Stay tuned the week of the 29th as you will se something very exciting!

In Christ
