Heck why not? Eastern Catholics are just as much Catholic as Roman-Rite. 😃

My first impression was that this was an ornate reredo, as is sometimes seen in older parishes (such as some of the Spanish California missions). But that definitely looks like an opening for holy doors in the center of an icon screen.

There are some nice old iconostasis in hard coal country. But I think they may have used a stock photo from an image bank.

That couple could be models, or even Orthodox.

If you look closely enough (on the photo expanded, not the banner version), you can see the priest behind the bride.

And the holy icons on icon stands to the left of the bride and right of the groom.

I find it interesting that EC or Orthodox the bride is attired is what not very long ago would have been considered an immodest dress for church. The photo of the first wedding at our new cathedral showed the joyous bride in a typical-these-days strapless dress that not long ago been considered only appropriate after dark at a social event, but never inside a church. I know of brides both Orthodox and EC who are allowed to wear these dresses now. And there definitely are EC and Orthodox parishes which would not accept this. I don’t want to see so much, thank you, not in church. I understand cathedrals all over in Europe still expect women to cover their shoulder inside the church. Take it to the red carpet or to a night club.

If you click on the photo in the ad it enlarges it. And then if you look in the URL the photo is called ā€œfancywedding_265x55ā€ which I think is funny since the bride in is a very plain gown with a plain veil and nothing looks fancy about the ā€œweddingā€. I think what they mean is ā€œfancychurchā€, cuz they’re used to stripped down, bare bones contemporary Latin Church buildings. šŸ™‚

It could be Orthodox but I’ve seen this iconostasis before and believe it is Ukrainian Catholic. Fr. Roger Boucher

Catholic Match responded to my question. They said that it is a stock photo and they do not know the name of the church.
