Misunderstanding 59 Catholics killed millions of protestants in the inquisition (which is statistically impossible depending on the number claimed ranging from thousands to hundreds of millions)

Misunderstanding 60 The catholic church started the children’s crusade and 50,000 children died. (the number is correct but it had nothing to do with the church)

Misunderstanding 61 - thinking that Catholics do not know what it means to have faith and do good works. Many misunderstood about what doing good works mean.

I am surprised to see this list is still going.

Misunderstanding 62: Peter was not a Pope (so other Christians say)

Misunderstanding 63: Catholics think that the only acceptable form of birth control is the “rhythm method.”

Misunderstanding 64: Emperor Constantine founded the Catholic Church in 325 A.D. and the first Pope is Leo II.

Misunderstanding 65: Catholics have to eat fish on Fridays.

That was actually cited to me by a Protestant as the reason he would never become Catholic. He didn’t like fish.

hey guys!

i was researching catholicism online and i came across this site, its really interesting! i myself am protestant (kind of… its a complicated situation…) but i was wondering if you guys could perhaps cite some scripture or reasoning behind your beliefs… ya know… better educate the ignorant protestants like myself! 😛 thanks for the thread!

Another Misunderstanding - Why do Catholics think God died on the cross?

Um…Who *doesn’t *think God died on the cross…?

I am guessing that nowadays, there are many non-Catholics keep asking why we still have Jesus on the Cross in our church? They would ask us if we believe He already resurrected.

If you would like, I have started a new thread called - Catholics, Born Again?? Here I show more contradictory/mixed messages that are apparent in Catholic Teaching when compared to scripture. Need help understanding.

Thanks.

In other words, are you saying not all Catholics are born again in the baptism?

I would add this to the list. 🙂

Thanks!

Since Catholics believe in the Real Presence in the Eucharist, they are guilty of cannibalism!

Could be…

My only point is: If someone denies that God died on the cross, they must either be denying the resurrection (ie denying that Christ died), or denying the divinity of Jesus Christ (Jesus is God; Jesus died on the cross; God died on the cross). But that is better dealt with on a new thread, if anyone wishes to persue.

just wanted to say -you have a great signature image. The animation says a lot.

Just to clarify, I was listing a common misunderstanding not what I actually believe. I really do believe Jesus is present in the Eucharist. 🙂
