Catholic Movies Online?

Just wondering if anybody knows the location of any Catholic movies online? I’m always nervous about googling and using sites that I don’t know to watch movies - no viruses wanted here!

I use Netflix but I honestly don’t know which movies are Catholic and which ones aren’t… any suggestions would be great Thank you!

These are some good ones. I suggest Padre Pio Miracle Man, that’s my favorite… that and Passion of Christ.

There’s a lot of movies on there by St. Luke Productions. I especially love Therese, Maximillian Kolbe, and St John of the Cross.

Vision (about St. Hildegaard von Bingen)

The Way (starring Martin Sheen about the Camino, the way of St. James)

Those are a few I can think of at the top of my head :] These movies are on Netflix. I saw a few documentaries about Catholic subjects, but I don’t watch them since the view tends to be secularized.

I used to be a netflix subscriber, but no more. I love piusmedia.com. They have the most beautiful family and saint movies. For the most part, it works the same way and you can have different types of memberships. I hope soon we will be able to watch the movies via streaming, but in the mean time, it is nice to know that there are family movies that one can watch.

I just saw your post about Catholic Movies. We saw a good movie online called ‘The Reluctant Saint’ starring Maximilian Kolbe. It’s the story of St. Joseph of Cupertino, a 17th Century Italian saint. The movie was made in 1962. I would recommend it. However, I don’t know how reliable their portrayal of St. Joseph of Cupertino was. I guess it’s kind of difficult to play a saint. You can just google ‘The Reluctant Saint’ and click on youtube.

I did not not like St Joan of Arc with Ingrid Bergman at all, a bad movie, in my opinion.

I’m not sure if it is still on Netflix or not, but Molokai: The Story of Father Damien was a really good movie.

St. Francis of Assisi was released by 20th Century Fox in 1961. The movie stars Bradford Dillman, Delores Hart and Stuart Whitman among others. Good movie.

“There be Dragons” is on netflix. It’s about Josemaría Escrivá, the man who founded Opus Day.

“For Greater Glory” is too. It’s about a catholic rebellion in Mexico, when they outlawed the church.

I would avoid any of those weird “christian” movies on netflix though, like all those end times movies. Not only are they not Catholic, they just aren’t very good.
