I have an assignment due for my Italian class at my university about the changes to the music in American Catholic churches. It’s due tomorrow night but if anyone can provide some information it would be great. Basically I have to write a paragraph about how the music in Catholic Mass is different from traditional Catholic churches in Italy. Specific things like how many musicians there are during mass, if they are volunteers or paid employees (and how much they would be paid), and what instruments are used. If anyone can help, and also if you don’t mind me using your post as a quote in my essay. Also, here is the information my professor sent me (if anyone understands Italian haha):
I cambiamenti vanno bene, ma meglio essere specifici: quanti musicisti, quanti pagati, quali strumenti. In Italia non si assumono professionisti e la musica e’ tradizionalissima (e noiosa), quindi e’ strano sentire questo.
I don’t go to Catholic church so I don’t know much and the woman in charge of the choir and music at the church by me was not available to speak with me.
Thanks
