Pope Francis is in Mexico right now. Whenever he comes to a country, he asks Saint Therese of Lisieux for roses. Completely unexpectedly, he stopped at the door of a cloistered convent during this visit to Mexico, whose nuns don’t leave, who give their lives to God and pray for the Church and the Pope. Earlier that day a man at mass there gave them white roses. When the Pope came to their door out of the blue, the mother superior happened to have these roses in her hand and she just gave them to the Pope. They were surprised when they heard the story of the Pope and roses.
One of the nuns said his unexpected visit encouraged them to give themselves “day after day, in our hidden life so the Church may have life and bless our Holy Father.”
