Hi everyone!

I’m looking to read more novels this year, and I was wondering what Catholic Authors you would recommend (or Catholic approved, too) that I read?

Perhaps you know of a credible list? There seems to be plenty of lists out there, but I wonder if there is a more reliable list.

Thanks for your help! God Bless. Your friend,

Kyle

I found a really good novel on here called “Sons of Cain”. I recommend it if you like thrillers and conspiracy stories. It’s incredibly Catholic- the heroes are priests, Ex military Catholics, and some other famous Catholics I won’t spoil for you- all fighting the forces of Satan. There are inspirational quotes and deep theological Truths mixed in.

Here is a link to the book on Amazon: Sons of Cain

And there are many other books on the website above, but I haven’t read any others yet.

If you like figure skating, you can read my novels. They are written with a God-centered, Catholic worldview, and the lead characters are practicing Catholics. 🙂

I ditto the recommendation for the book “Father Elijah” by Michael D. O’Brien.

If you search for this book on Amazon you will see other books he has written, and one of the best (in my opinion) is “Island of the World”. Another great one is “A Heart of Stone” and “The Father’s Tale.”

Incidentally, his name is Michael D. O’Brien. (I once looked up an essay by Michael O’Brien and he is a totally different person.)

He is an excellent Catholic author and I think of his writings as being in four dimensions, with strong spiritual overtones.

Ignatius Press publishes his books.

He is also an artist and designs most of the covers for his books.

I just discovered this author through my own publishing house, Oak Tree Press. His name is John M. Wills and the book is “The Year Without Christmas”. I bought this book to help a fellow author and I finished it in two days (work interfered!) My husband loved it as well! You can find it on amazon.com and at Barnes and Noble!

And while this might be geared more for girls, it’s an excellent read: “Finding Grace” by Laura Pearl. It has the Catholic Writer’s Guild Seal of Approval and is a wonderful coming-of-age novel… I swear Laura hid under my bed when I was thirteen and took notes!

Kyleboerner, any particular types of fiction you prefer (mainstream, historical, SF/fantasy, mystery)? I can probably make some good suggestions relating to Catholicism in whatever genre you’ve enjoyed in the past.

That looks really good. Definitely will be reading that soon.

Wow! Thanks for all the great recommendations. I recorded each one. It’s great to see authors responding to this post as well, as I’m an aspiring one at the moment

The CatholicFiction.net recommendation was great as well! I liked their facebook page to stay in the know.

Thanks again to each and every one of you. God bless,

Kyle
