Me too. I do not eat meat and fast on Fridays for all of the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

In the US, there doesn’t have to be an act of penance but it is recommended (with the exception of the days during Lent). catholic.com/magazine/articles/is-friday-penance-required

If I eat meat on Fridays outside of Lent, I pray the Litany of the Precious Blood.
