Catholic Opinion of Baptists?

I had a Baptist friend that asked me the usual questions about Catholicism in the guise of just being curious but then during our three week exchange turned the tables and it became apparent she just wanted to attack the Church and Catholicism. I was left feeling quite betrayed by her.

Fast forward to a month ago I met a woman in a store and she is a Baptist. I explained about what happened with my other friend and she was shocked that such an anti-Catholic attitude took place. She explained that not all Baptists are this way and that the preacher is to blame for this. I felt a lot better after speaking with her.

Your Mom should go to RCIA as I feel she would really enjoy the teachings of the Church and put a lot of questions and misconceptions to rest.

Incidentally, without Googling it, can you tell me what the second use of the law is?

One of the more curious things I have found is the resistance to realizing there are things out there they may have been wrong about and then not wanting to learn more about those things.

For some reason I was raised with a particularly negative view of Baptists. My parents are from the south, where you are either a Baptist or a Catholic

Not sure what part of the South your parents are from, but I was born and raise in Alabama and I can assure you that is not the case. I knew one family who was Catholic and they were a novelty. They had to drive all the way to the other side of Birmingham to go to their Catholic church. Ironically, they lived just up the street from a fantastic Methodist church. To the contrary, Catholics are very rare, while Baptist, Methodist, and Church of Christ are the norm.
