Ok. I’m going to be direct and honest . I wrote in the first message
Starting this topic. I did try to go back, you don’t how much of a struggle my journey towards the church went, you can’t guess about how this sounds.
I honestly had one heck of a time. I had my doubts. I went to church once,
And I didn’t get that peaceful warm feeling. I’m just not able to go back, it
Was a tedious journey, a priest that was here helped me through my
Journey, but no luck. I think think that you judged mecby what I said. I just want to tell you, as much as I love to hear feedback, that offended me, you could have asked me why I am thinking the way I do. In the future, ask me
Why I feel this way? Don’t take offense. I just wanted to nicely tell you how you made me feel when I read your comment. If you have something else to say, that’s great, you comments are always welcome.

Love, Jellybean

Ok, well, answer this, why do we have to fhave an annulment done?
Marriage is of no religion, we get married at the churches of the faiths
We grew up i? I just don’t understand why everything has to be (absolved,
Or: (recogonized). Confession is good, being absolved of sins feels great.
I just can’t get passed annulment, as I said, are court documents proof enough? That’s what I keep asking myself. If you have any knowledge on marriage annulments fater divorce, feel free to mention it. I’m welcoming all opinions and comments.

Peace!

Love, Jellybean

Continuing the discussion from Talking To Priests About Problems:

I have to say, as far as the Catholic Religion goes, it’s an
Awesome faith to follow. However, people do disagree with
The church on some issues. My opinion is, the religion itself
Is just a faith where people believe in the same things, you
Don’t need to go into church to show the lord you love him.
I tried to head back to church after years of being away, my
Journey was interesting, but the trip back to church was a big
Dud. I owed it to the lord to at least try, but it’s a no go.
My personal opinion is, you can be religious without
Going to church, nobody should bevpressured into
Believing how you show your love is mass and heavy church
Attendance. I know thet we all have our opinions on the Catholic
church, that’s fine. I needed to speak up. I’m not ashamed or afraid
To reveal how I feel. I just wrote it down, feel free to commet. I
Live seeing what people have to say. I never judge, if you believe
In something Inmay not, so be it. Don’t be afraid to write he
You feel about the religion. Peace and love to all.

Love, Jellybean
I understand how you feel on one level. But for myself the need for attending church not only fulfills Heb 10:25 but also keeps me focused so I don’t get lazy. I must put aside that one small amount of time every week to concentrate on and commune with God in a formal way, recognizing that there’s more to life-and the demands on my time- than worldly affairs.

Sorry if I offended you. I was just trying to get at the truth, and on the Internet that can be hard as we can’t see you and don’t know you personally.

If you’re sincerely seeking after the faith, I would suggest talking again to a priest. And try to go to Mass on Sunday. If you don’t like it then just offer it as a sacrifice for your sins and the sins of the world. Or if it’s the type of Mass that is boring, you could try a different parish, or a Charismatic service, or a TLM service. You will receive God’s grace by going to Mass, even if you don’t feel any different the spirit will work in you.

It’s good you are wanting to come back even if it’s difficult. And if you got offended at what I said it means you still have love for Jesus and you want to do the right thing.

I’ll bite.
Marriage is just a piece of paper
No, it’s not. It’s a sacrament instituted by Christ. The purpose of the annulment process is to determine if the sacrament took place. If a couple is sacramently married that marriage cannot be dissolved, as Jesus says in Matthew 19.

You don’t get it, everyone else here has been very nice, yet honest. I have no problem with that. I am highly religious. I’ve gotten extra blessings, and I’ve
Had a couple of miracles happen, and I don’t even go to church. I’m not arguing with you about anything. I will tell you this only once.p (you can show your love for the lord in lots of ways, praying , or good wishes, doing charity
Work, or during lent, not having meat in Friday’s). I may not go to church, but I personally think that not eating meat as a personal choice during lent
Is a big dedication to Jesus, if you praise his holy name, it pleases him. I
Know), if you want to make a point, please be nice. I don’t appreciate your harsh and hurtful words. I just want peaceful talks, not a war.

Ok, now I understand, thank you. I just know that my mother went to
Cambridge one day, an had a meeting with some monsegnior, at a seminary, or some religious building, she was in there for a while. I went so sh woulden’t be alone. I remember that it was a long meeting. I actually had time to get something to eat and a coffee. I walked to a coffe shop, had something and
Then walked back, she came out a little later. I guess annulments are common, and I understand. Thanks again, feel free to write again if you need too.
God bless!

Jellybean

Thank you. I know, it’s a tough subject. I see you get
What I was saying, my ove for the lord will never die,
He’s seen me through the hardest times. It’s funny, you
Mentioned talking to a priest. I’ve been wanting to make an
Appointment with a priest in my city, and discuss a couple of things.
I have written to priests online to vent and get advice, but
I’m thinking it’s about time. Thanksgiving is coming, this would be
A good time to go, anytime before the holiday. Do you have
Anything you disagree with? Any traditions or outlook on things
In everyday life, feel free to share if you do.

Jellybean

Whatever is bound on earth is bound in Heaven, that means that marriage is considered very sacred; it is when 2 people become 1. An annulment can be granted if a marriage isn’t considered valid.

When two people say “I do” in front of a priest, it is meant for life.

Marriage was originally only a thing the Church did, but then legality came into it and now that’s just how things work. There are legal issues and sometimes they need to be addressed.

I suggest you read some of St. Gemma Galgani’s life or some of the other saints’. It has always been understood that obedience to the Church is foremost the most important thing to being Catholic. We cannot choose whatever we want because God, through the Church, makes it known to us what is best for us.

“You are Peter, and on this rock I will build MY CHURCH…”. It was never meant to be a bunch of “churches-of-one.”

I am, you don’t know how many things the lord
Has seen me through. I’ve got more blessings than you’ll
Ever know, you’ve probably seen my replies. I have an undying
Love for him. I don’t think you can understand, we all follow Christ in
Their own way. I accept all the opinions and replys, but
You are judging me for what I say. I don’t think it’s right,
You are wrong. I love Jesus with all my heart. Please,
If you write again, don’t be judgmental, if you
Want to know something, just ask. I’d be happy to answer
Them.

Jellybean

I get it, how you feel is good. I’m so glad you feel that way.
I respect that. I know that we all have different ideas about
The church and the whole outlook, that’s why I created this subject. I find all replys interesting. True, we get lazy at times, but we get Get inspired to
Get up and go, the lord helps us whenever we need it.

Peace!

Jellybean

So Jellybean, just where do YOU get the authority to overrule God?

Like the Protestants you attempt to dictate to GOD just how He MUST save you.

Good luck with that,

PRAY VERY MUCH MY FRIEND,

Patrick

You don’t know me, how can you you think you are right, you don’t
Know how extremely religious I am. I think that church us good for the
People that believe going is the only way to show your love for him, it’s not.
I’ve shone it my way, and boy. I was rewarded for it, you think that if someone
Doesn’t go to church , we are not showing respect. That is totally wrong.
We don’t have to receive anything, our lord loves us no matter what, he lets
Us choos for ourselves how we praise him, and dedicate love to him.
I think that nn matter what, we have to accept how people feel, and
What they believe is good, we are all different, all that matters is we love the lord with all our hearts. What do you think about that?

Jellybean

I don’t. I.am just telling you what I think, don’t turn my words around.
Jesus is the king of my heart, and I feel his presence right now. I can almost feel that he’s looking down and reading all comments, and it’s a wonderful feeling. I tell you, my love for the lord is so strong, and it will never die,
I think that we all need to show love to our lord at any given time.

Jellybean

So Jellybean, just How and WHERE do you Jesus Christ In PERSON out side of the RCC?

God Bless you,

Patrick

I am Catholic. And I do believe that it is the best Church in existence. Although, I do believe in the Bible first, and it says that we all fall short of the glory of God. This making neither us or any Church perfect as some Catholics believe. 😀 There is not one Church that is perfect, although, I believe the Catholic Church to be the closest to being perfect. May love, peace and joy spring up into your life.

you

Don’t need to go into church to show the lord you love him.
God doesn’t need anything from us, including us to show our love for Him; but WE DO need Him, even to exist. If He were ever to stop thinking about us or loving us, then we would cease to exist.

When we don’t go to mass or follow His Word, it shows Him that we have decided that we don’t need Him. We choose to say “My will be done” instead of “Thy will be done”.

When we face our Judgement, He will say to us in return, “Thy will be done” and our choice to not need Him will be final and eternal.

As followers of Christ, it is so important to recognize our own weakness and this neediness and dependence we all have on Him; to abandon our own will in favor of the will of the Father.

If we fail to recognize this in this life, then He will abandon us to our own will in the next. Hell is a door locked from the inside… why would you want to start turning that key a little more every Sunday by rejecting Him who waits for you; Him who died for you?

You are not going to go to hell for not attending church. Christianity is a personal relationship with Christ Himself and does not have to involve church at all.

I’ve gotten extra blessings, and I’ve

my ove for the lord will never die,

These things have nothing to do with how strong your love is for God, but rather show how much He loves you.

This is like saying that you love your boyfriend/girlfriend endlessly, but you just don’t feel it’s necessary to actually go see them. You call and text them and that should be enough, and you really feel and know that you love them because they mail you presents and arrange for nice things for you.

Love is not a feeling, it is an action; God is showing His love for you, but by rejecting the Mass and His Church, you are showing neglect in return.
