God bless you buddy. I hope to see more messages! Peace and love to all in this tread!

I seriously think you are misunderstanding God on a large scale.

God is a book. On one page is mercy. On the other is justice. God is just as just as He is merciful.

The only way you can love God is to do His will. That is the only way. Some people might say, “Well, yeah I sinned, but God still loves me!” While that might be true, that does not mean He is not angry, or hurt. He wants to see you at your full potential, each day He is sending graces toward you in order to perfect you out of love.

Mass is not an option. Sorry, I had to say it. The Church teaches it is a mortal sin to not attend. This is because you can’t really be apart of a Church when you are not apart of a Church, if that makes sense. Also, I think God is deeply offended when we don’t show up to mass on purpose. His Majesty is descending humbly into a simple piece of bread for YOU! You are taking part in the Passion! How can you say you love someone but not go see them at their direst hours?

You are entitled to your opinion, mine is, you don’t need to
Go to church to show your love for the lord. I tried lik anythinhg
To try and get back into church, the lord called me to take a
Journey, and at least try to get back to church. I love our lord
So much that I went on that journey to try and head back, oh, it was
Not easy. I had lots of doubts, went to confession for the first time
In years, and I know the lord would accept whatever I end up
Doing. I felt it in my heart, and I can feel that he’s very happy to
See that Inlove him so much I’m willing to at least try, no that is true
Live, if I didn’t care. I woulden’t have even attempted to go back.
I think the subject I started was good, we all have our opinion on
The church, and believe church is a must, and some who are
Very religious. But don’t go to church we all are meant to have
Different ideas, we are given choices, unfortunately one people
Choose to become evil and hurt and kill people in a terrorist attack.
I mentioned that because, the one who is the evil terrorist chose
Violence instead of turning to God for help, or gettingvyphrlp for
His anger or frustration, he or she makes that morbid choice.
Heck. I’ve talked to Peiests when in distress, or need to talk
And need advice, it’s a good thing. I choose to feel good.
I don’t know if what I said makes sense to you, feel free to
Comment on this if yo need too!

Peace!

It would be very sad if a person who claimed to love Jesus decided they would rather spend an eternity without Him than spend one hour a week sitting in a pew.

I have a question, you are also known as frdavid96, are must be a priest,
If I’m eight. I have to know, what do you think of the opinions of those who commented in the cchurch topic? I created the going to church thread to see
What others think and believe, it’s a subject where we have all different
Views, please let me know what you think about the mega replys and
Opinions in there. I’d love to hear your opinion.

Peace!

It seems to me that I am replying to myself. I probably did something by mistake.I wrote that message where I stated that the Eucharist is the source and summit of ourCatholic faith.

Amen! My faith is very strong too. I think you’ll understand this.
Ok, here it is. I’ve had on and off hospitalizations due to very
Bad uninaeyvtract infractions, for a tear or so on and off, but last
Year. I was hospitalized 5 times, 2 were minor ffor observation, one
Was bleeding problem, and 2 were bad UTI. Well. I
Have to say. Jesus really was there for me. I had my highly
Religious, bthat added to my positive attitude helped me. I would
Recive communion in the hospital, and I’d see the priest who goes to both of the hospitals to give blessings, last rites God for idn, or just to talk.
Jesus really took care of me, it’s as if he was there holding my hand land telling me I’ll be ok, that is how super strong my faith is. Thank goodness, with
His help, the doctors found an antibiotic that controlled whatever bacteria
That made me hospital sick, and there was a miracle, at one time, everyone
Thought I’d end up on Dialysis again. I’m a kidney recepisnt , and it’s
Been 11 years at the time of the kidney scare, but achugecmiracle, after
Hardly any, to no urination, the doctors and Inwere losing hope, but one
Night out of the blue, UTI e was in the bag, divine intervention, I was sure
I’d need Dialysis after the hospital stay. Man. I will never be able to thank Jesus, the Angels and saints who watched over me last year, the time if the scare. I was in the hospital for a month. I was in ICU for 2 weeks. I just know
Having faith really helps, add a positive attitude, which lasts for only so
Long. I hope this reply uplifted you! God bless you and stay safe always!Love, Jellybean Visit Topic or reply to this email to respond.

I love the Church that our Lord Jesus Christ gave to us. The Doctors of the Church on prayer remind us that feelings should not be what we react to, as regards to faith, for feelings cannot be trusted. Holy Mass is the source and summit of our Catholic Faith, and Jesus comes to us truly present in… Visit Topic or reply to this email to respond. To unsubscribe from these emails, click here.

I’m glad to see that you are able to go to mass.
I wish I could be like that, but as you have read.
I just am not meant to go, we follow our hearts,
And the lord loves us, we will not go to hell or
Be condemned unless we do really devilsh
And evil things, all he asks is for love and
Say thank you when something comes our
Way, we are able to live our lives any way
We want.

God bless you and ahead his peace and love!

We are to follow the Lord. We are to do his will. Our hearts are restless until they rest in him. It’s not about your will. Perhaps if you spend more time meditating on the words of Christ you’ll see it’s not enough to simply not do devilish and evil things. We are called to do. Perhaps it would be good to address your issues/questions/disagreements one at a time in separate threads. Why do you think you’re not called to participate in the Mass?, not called to participate in what he commanded us to do in his memory?, not called to receive his body and blood? Have you read Jesus words “unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you have no life within you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” You say you love Jesus, but just can’t do what he asks of you? What do you think the Mass is?

The peace of Christ,
Mark

Well. I guess we all think differently, and that’s fine. I’ve seen so many
Different opinions on this. I can’t believe how popular this subject is. I do thank you for sharing your thoughts. I love this community. I see what you are saying,
But I’ve tried like crazy to return, my journey to going back to church really
Took a toll on me, and I got confused and had doubts, but now I’m certain
That no matter how hard I tru. I’m not a church goer, as religious as I am. I
Was glad I went on that difficult Journey. I felt like Alice, when she ended up
In Wonderland., there was lots of questions, twists and turns, and.only one simple answer, it took me a while to find the answer, you see, there are
Things I don’t agree with. I so wish I could go back, but the reality is, it’s a no go. Do you understand? Can you get why I am not a church ? Feel free to write anything on your mind.

This is relativism in a nutshell my friend. When you deny the objective teachings of the Church that Jesus established because you don’t agree with them, you are embracing relativism.

Jesus is not a truth, a way; He is THE Truth, THE Way.

Your feelings or willingness to agree does not change the objective truth of the situation:

If you are a baptized Catholic who is skipping mass, this is grave matter and, based on your full consent and knowledge, potentially a mortal sin and the non-repentant persistence of said act could potentially lead to Hell.

Please read the Catechism and speak with a priest about the problems you have with Church teaching.

I don’t go because I disagree with the church on lots

Of things, for example, as an adult.
OK – so, the “no go” is just a way of saying “I refuse to listen to the church on various teachings”? You realize that even Jesus had problems with the leadership of the church of his day, right? And even that didn’t keep him from attending weekly worship services in the synagogue…
I noticed that the church

Has people do things that are in my opinion hypercritical.
Absolutely. But, we’re a church of sinners trying to do better, not saints who are already perfect.

Anyway, do you boycott every organization that has people who aren’t perfect? If so… then you don’t shop, or get entertained, or anything: every organization has such folks! If not… then this is just a red herring that lets you justify not going to church. 🤷‍♂️
I’ve seen churches hav people hold hands to say the Lord’s

Prayer. I know I can skip that, but then I feel like some people

Will think I’m horrible for not doing it.
Who cares? Smile and fold your hands. They’re big boys and girls – they’ll get over it. 😉
I also disagree with their

Views when it comes to gays.
Really? What part? The part about “love them and give them the respect due to all people”?
I have other

Places where I disagree, and going to church woulden’t feel the same.
Is church just about how you ‘feel’? Or is there more to it? In other words, if it’s more than just the particular emotion you’re experiencing, aren’t you really “throwing out the baby with the bathwater” by not going?

None of this stuff you mentioned should keep you from being with Jesus at Mass.

Holding hands during the Our Father is not a requirement, many if not most churches don’t even do it, and it’s not a big deal to “opt out” of it if they do. People opt out all the time because of flu, arthritis or just not liking to hold hands.

As for hypocrites, they’re everywhere in society. If I quit participating in everything that was hypocritical for time to time, I wouldn’t belong to any church, wouldn’t attend college, wouldn’t shop at any stores or buy from any merchant, wouldn’t work for any employer, and probably wouldn’t go out of my yard.

Regarding gays, I disagree with some of the official church teachings on that, but I’m not going to let it keep me from being with Jesus at Mass. It actually motivates me to spend MORE time with Jesus praying for a resolution to such conflicts so that more people can be welcomed and included into His Church.

Regarding the death penalty, I’m personally anti, but many churchgoing Catholics feel same as you do. I know a number of lawyers and there are cases where the prosecutor seeking the death penalty and the defense counsel trying to save the murderer from death are both good Catholics and attend Mass at the same church and are friendly with each other. I also don’t think your views either way should keep you from attending Mass, you just go and pray for everybody involved including the murderer, the victim, victim’s family, the lawyers, judge and executioner if it comes to that because these cases are really hard on everybody.

Have your tried going to a Latin mass? They don’t have the sign of peace at a Latin mass, if that’s what you prefer.

Thank you for your reply. I see that we all have a big picture
Here, and I think that we all have different views. I think I may
Talk to a priest about this again. However p, a priest I talked to told
Me that having doubts is normal, my major problems with the
Church is strong now, the issues and beliefs are really strong.
I wrote to a (priest online),nhe is Catholic, but he’s a brother, or. A
Priest named as brother. I told him about my journey towards an
Attended return and how I felt, he told me that I should feel
Pressured into going back to church, he basically told me to
Follow my heart, and if this doesn’t feel right don’t feel like I
Have to do something because I feel pressured. I love our lord so
Much, too much to ignore how I’m feeling, my attempts to go
And my doubts are normal, if I didn’t care I woulden’t feeling this way.
I don’t know if you get what I’m saying,? Feel red to tell us what you think about what I just mentioned.

Peace!

If he goes by ‘brother’, then he’s not a priest. A monk, perhaps, or someone who gave himself that title, but not a priest…

The priest wants you to go to church out of love for Jesus, not out of pressure to go.
Do you love Jesus enough to just put all your doubts in His hands and say, Lord I may never agree with this stuff or get a good answer, but I love you anyway, so here I am to spend an hour with you and not worry about that other stuff for an hour.

No, straight out. I can’t. I can’t begin to tell you how much I
Wish Upi could, you wern’t here to see my desperate struggle to
Head back to church. I really fought hard, but the priest I used to talk
To, he moved on, but the priest that helped me through my journey
Was so wonderful, he was there for me in my my most desperate times,
He advised and comforted me, and that inspired me to keep on trying,
Oh, my struggle was really hard, you would have to have been here to
Get how emotional and frustrating it was. I may be meeting with a priest this week if possible, I may talk about this, but Inhave some personal stuff to
Talk about first. I know one thing. Jesus wants us to be happy. I try to stay
Positive about al this, but it gets harder.

Oh, that makes sense, he is a great person to
Talk to, and there is a site where actual priests
Answerr your questions, give advice, or
Just a place to vent and talk about anything at
All. I get inspiration when I see pisitive words
Of positivity, and they keep anyone in need in
Their prayers. .
