My daughter was given a bible. It has the imprimatur seal but it only has 66 books. I was under the impression that a bible with with the imprimatur seal was catholic. Can someone clarify. Thank you
So this is a Spanish language Bible. I will tell you right away that we’re now well outside my realm of knowledge.
“Sagrada Biblia” translates to “Holy Bible” in English. Many Bible versions will have this on their covers and/or title pages. A basic Google search yields at least three versions with this title (official CEE version, Nácar-Colunga, Navarre). Are there any other indicators, perhaps in the first few pages, that might help us to know the exact version of the Bible your daughter received?
Yes, that’s my advice at this point as well. As I said previously, this is way outside my realm of knowledge. The posted photo and additional information confirm this.
I showed it to my priest. It took him a bit but he noticed it was a cut and paste job. They took copies of a Catholic Bible with the seal and an image of the Blessed Mother and pasted it on to a protastant bible. The things people do to make a buck. I don’t blame the person who gifted to her. It was real pretty and came with a rosary.
