Catholic or Orthodox: what if it doesn't seem to matter which Church?

Is it wrong to think that both Churches offer a sure way to salvation and that one Church does not have a “fuller” truth than the other?

I’ve personally “picked” the Catholic Church to go through RCIA, but if an atheist hypothetically asks which Church to look into, is it wrong to say, “Both Churches offer salvation and paths towards sanctification”?

You are separated from the See of Peter if you are ‘Orthodox.’

Thou art Perer(rock) and upon this Rock I will build My Church !

But the question is what if it doesn’t seem to matter…I wonder the same thing…I believe that we have the fullness of the faith…but if the Catholic Church’s position is now…that all other religions have a place…and who is to say…with V-2, wasn’t it…and please correct me…as I have been studying the documents…but would love some imput…who are we to say will have a right to salvation…I know that the more we know the more we are responsible for…but one questions anyway…would it really matter…PAX

Yes, this is a very grave error.

God established the Catholic Church for the salvation of men.

I was in the Orthodox Church for 13 years before I reverted to the Catholic Church 11 years ago. I would tell an atheist who is wondering whether to become Catholic or Orthodox to investigate whether an Eastern Catholic parish is nearby. That might be the best of both worlds – Eastern Christian spirituality and liturgy along with union with the See of Peter.

(By the way, I am not a member of an Eastern Catholic parish. There is a Maronite Catholic parish near me, which I have visited. It is very handsome, but since I am not Lebanese, I felt a little out of place. The nearest Byzantine Catholic parish is some 20 miles away, which is prohibitively far for me, since I do not know how to drive. If there had been a Byzantine Catholic parish with a Divine Liturgy in English no more than 5 miles from my house when I was investigating the Orthodox Church, I might have remained a Catholic while attending that hypothetical Byzantine Catholic parish.)
