Hi - I’m not sure where this should go as far as forums, so please move it if I’ve put it in the wrong place, o.k.? (not like you wouldn’t anyway!)

I’ve grown up all over and have LOVED having pen pals. I wish there was a way that we could have a way to have Catholic pen pals for those that would be interested. It could be having a pen pal from the other side of the country or another country all together. Is there any organization or any way that some on here might be interested? I mean real letters (that’s part of the fun for me - actually getting something other than a bill, an advert or magazine - I know everyone must understand that!)
Anyway, please let me know - I’d love to have someone I could write to and receive letters from where I felt comfortable discussing faith issues. Also, I know my God Children would be interested. The idea of getting something in the mail just thrills them all together -

God Bless

My suggestion would be to work through your own parish. You could start a pen pal group or you could work with the youth ministry (depending on your age). Someone with an official title at your parish (Catholic Pen Pal Coordinator, Youth Minister, etc.) could contact some parishes in other states and see if anyone wants to play 😃 For the sake of security, all letters could be sent to the parish mailing address.

Good luck!

The pen pal idea is cool. I like the idea of getting a physical letter since I usually find that the content is more well-thought out (as opposed to ‘hi’ or a single sentence). I don’t know of a network myself.

I checked online. Most are via e-mail except the ones to prison inmates. The main issue, really, is working around the physical address and avoiding abuse of it. I wouldn’t mind sending you mail myself but I’m still hesitant about giving out my address for more personal reasons.

I would be interested if it was something that could be a posibility. Blessings for all.👍

You know, for some time now I’ve been thinking about asking here on the forums if anyone was interested in becoming pen pals.
So, anyone want a catholic pen pal from Germany?😃
Just send me a pm!

Laudetur Iesus Christus!

I like writing letters and I thought it would be cool to find also people, who are Catholic and we also could help each other with growing in faith. Now I was googling for such a penpals site and got directed here. So I registered and I’m wondering if anyone would be interested in becoming penpals.

I’m not really a forum discussion person (I end up either spending unreasonable time there or I’m active very irregularly), so I’d prefer to talk via PM or e-mail before eventually switching to letters.

I know that this might sound quite suspiciously, that someone just joins and want to exchange addresses to write letters (I use a p.o.box, so it’s easy for me), so we certainly can talk online before. And if it helps, here are some places where you can find me with a same username:

The latter link is to a pen forum where I also posted a penpal “ad”, if you’d like to check it… but I’ll repeat the basic facts about me also here:

I’m 31 years old, female, from Slovakia (Central Europe). I work as a research assistant at uni, doing maths. My hobbies are photography, letters, reading, classical music and playing the piano, …

To elaborate a little more about my faith and what’s important to me… Firstly, I’m very grateful for the faith and I see it as a wonderful gift from God. And so, I want to stay faithful to Him and to the Church. My aim is to do the ordinary things in an extraordinary way - my favourite saint is St. John Berchmans. I’m currently starting the CVX formation meetings, so the ignatian spirituality.

Let me know if you’re interested in the correspondence!

Hi, I just did a search on yahoo and was taken here! Did anything become of the Catholic pen pals? I know two of you said you were interested in writing, but that was a year and a half ago… Please message me if you would like a pen pal!
