Catholic Photographer: Same Sex Weddings

I’m a wedding photographer and recently I’ve heard about same sex couples asking to book a wedding with photographers, the photographers have replied saying ‘it conflicts with my religious beliefs’ and then the couple gets offended and tries to sue them, leaving photographers with attorney’s fees of 6-7k.

As a practicing Catholic, would it be advised against or okay to shoot same sex marriages?

As a former professional photographer; LONG before the issue you face I would ask them what church they are being maried in and date and be BOOKED UP. Tell them you only do church weddings.

No way would I do one of there civil unions!

Why don’t you just tell them you are busy or unavailable that day? You have no obligation to tell them why, but lawsuit-wise, that’s probably the safest way.
