Where can I find a Catholic pocket Bible? I’ve looked on Amazon in the past, but it seems most, if not all, are Protestant Bibles.

I love reading the Bible. I read it at home, and I read it while waiting. It’s those times when I’m not home that I wish I had an easily carry able Bible. I put a Bible in my briefcase when I go to college that I read while I wait for classes to start. I find it would probably be easier if I had a pocket Bible though.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately I haven’t. I think there’s one within 30 minutes from where I live, but I’m not sure.

If you don’t find any help tonight maybe try calling them and see if they have any pocket Bibles that Catholic Shop

Hmm, I just looked it up and it seems this Catholic shop isn’t where I thought it was. This ones in a rather sketchy city nearby (the same city my college is in, but my college is on the outskirts.) I don’t know if I’d want to potentially risk my life to get a portable Bible. Probably not the worst neighborhood in the city, but then again, I don’t really know the city’s neighborhoods too well.

Why not download an app?

If you don’t like staring at an ordinary screen, you can get a cheap “paper-like” tablet device and then download a Catholic Bible to it.

True, but on the phone I am too easily distracted. That’s why I prefer printed Bibles.

Maybe an old MP3 device then, like an old iPod touch that has no internet connection and no games loaded?

Paper is great, but I don’t think I’ve seen a good pocket Catholic Bible that includes old and new testaments.

One popular free app is the Laudate app. That has more than one bible.

I’ve only seen pocket new testament for a catholic bible. Enclosed is a link.

Or, what about this one, not quite pocket sized, but small? They used to sell a pocket one, I thought, but I guess no longer.

Honestly, I have been able to fit this Bible in my pocket in certain pairs of pants with large pockets. Or cargo shorts with the big front pockets.

This Bible along with my pocket edition of the Catechism are super handy to take with wherever I go. 🙂

Interestingly, they call that version of the Catechism the “Pocket Edition”, but it’s actually and inch taller and just as wide as the Ignatius compact RSV-CE.

Why not download something like Laudate or a Bible app?
he already answered this above. His mobile phone is too distracting. That said, an old iphone or android can be gotten for cheap and one can download only Laudate and a Bible app then disconnect from the internet and not download games.

Mel, you would really benefit from getting something like a subscription to the Magnificat monthly pocket magazine. It’s the daily readings from Mass with a daily reflection. If you’re not going to enroll in a BIble study to help you understand Scripture, and realizing you are a new convert, the daily Mass readings with great reflections might be more beneficial right now.
It’s a wonderful publication and very small, easy to keep in your pocket.

Actually I just joined something called the “Newman Club” at my college. They have a Bible Study as their meetings. They are Catholic, but the only thing that worries me is that they let non Catholics in.

Go. Everyone deserves to learn it do het at least one copy of the Magnificat. There’s a good chance that this group looks at the Sunday readings anyway

I don’t know of a Catholic pocket Bible but you could get a pocket copy of the New Testament and Psalms…

You could also check on ebay. The one I carry around with me I found on ebay. It is Douay Rheims version from the 40s I got for under 10 bucks.

Have that and the pocket version of the Catechism and you are good to go. Reading them in public is a good evangelization tool.

Scepter Publishers sells pocket-sized re-prints of the excellent 1941 Confraternity New Testament. IMO, this is the pinnacle of 20th century English translations. Parallel to the Knox, but more readable to North Americans. 100% Catholic. The book introductions and footnotes are clear and confidence inspiring.
