I think if there were one book of prayers that had all the catholic prayers in it, one might have a problem trying to carry it around.
I just found a prayerbook I had dearly missed for a year or so yesterday (it was buried under a bunch of books and other papers…looked for it 3 times before). It’s called The Handbook of Prayers, published by Scepter Publishers [third American Edition 1995]. Scepter are the same ones who publish the Roman Missal.
It’s very misleading in size. It looks like a pocketbook, not more than a half inch wide, but there are actually 594 pages. It has the Order of Mass and the 4 Main Eucharistic prayers in both english and latin, 84 prefaces, and pretty well prayers for all occasions, most major devotions (except I don’t recall seeing any prayers to the Divine Mercy in it [but it was bought in 1996]). A small section on how to be a better Catholic including a summary of
Christian Beliefs…etc…very good variety of prayers in it.
