Exactly…and why were the Protestant services not interrupted?

Already explained in post #50. Most Catholic chaplains are contractors, and could not – by law – perform volunteer services which they’re supposed to be paid for. If a Protestant chaplain is active-duty military, he could still minister (although if his/her organist, for example, was a contractor, they could not).
